Registering for wedding gifts can quickly go from one of the most fun-sounding wedding tasks to one of the most overwhelming–with all the options out there, where on earth to start?? Well, good news, y’all–we recently learned about Snowe, a wonderfully minimalist source for simple, high quality home goods that would be the perfect backbone to any registry. Inspired by their collection, we came up with our master list of ten essentials for every Southern wedding registry to get you started! After registering for these building block pieces at Snowe, add in colorful details and fun extras that best suit your and your fiancé’s lifestyle to create a registry full of items you’ll love and use for years to come.

White sheets: White sheets are surprisingly easy to keep clean and fresh, with the help of a little bleach (or baking soda + white vinegar, if you prefer). The best thing about crisp white sheets? They make you feel like you’re sleeping in a cloud every night (or, at least, a really nice hotel!).

White bath towels and white hand towels: We took our friend Erin’s advice from her Southern Newlywed post for this tip! She said, “We registered for really nice towels in white and light blue. The blue ones mildewed after a year, no matter how many washings they got, and now they’re just shop towels, but you can bleach the white ones every wash and they never mildew or stain. We’ll be using those same towels when we’re retired. Register for white towels, people!”

Simple dinner plates and bowls with clean lines: Versatility is key here! While we’d never say no to registering for your favorite china pattern as well, sets of simple white dinner plates and bowls can be mixed and matched for every holiday, celebration, and party color scheme. Keeping the shapes simple ensures that they’ll never go out of style.

A classic oval platter and a classic serving bowl: Ditto on the versatility point–whether you’re dishing out your favorite holiday recipe or adding to a friend’s potluck buffet, having at least one classic, white oval platter and one serving bowl will come in handy countless times over the years.

Silver serving pieces: As much as we love a gold accent or two on the table, it’s no secret that Southern belles have a soft spot for silver! A set of silver serving pieces will not only be an essential part of future dinner parties, it’ll also become a sweet and timeless heirloom to pass down someday.

Champagne flutes in a simple shape: While you may already have a collection of wine glasses, champagne flutes are a celebratory “extra” to register for that you’ll love pulling out on special occasions! Choosing a simple shape means that it’ll be easy to replace a glass or two if they break at some point over the decades you’ll be using them. P.S. Snowe’s flutes are made of crystallized glass, so they look and feels like crystal, but they’re dishwasher-safe!

A set of drinking glasses you love: Drinking glasses will (hopefully!) be one of the registry items you use the most frequently, so be sure to opt for ones that you and your beau adore! Your registry is the perfect opportunity to do away with the random assortment of glassware you may have acquired before the wedding, and opt for a matching set.

For all of these essentials, plus many more classic pieces that you’d be sure to love for decades, visit Snowe, and register for your wedding here!

Snowe has also graciously offered Southern Weddings readers 15% off with the code SouthernWeddings. Pick up a few pieces you simply can’t wait for, or find the perfect gift to give at an upcoming wedding or shower!
