Howdy, y’all! We’ve been serving up a bunch of new features lately and I’m really excited to share this one, a collection of fab finds that will color you inspired! A Southern gal is stylish and savvy in every way — not just when it comes to planning and creating her wedding. We came up with a few items that would look lovely at a bridal luncheon, on your honeymoon, or in your new home with your new husband!

This color palette reminds me of afternoon tea on the well-manicured lawn of your grandfather’s estate. Slip on some pearls and take a look at my favorite steel gray, green and ivory things!

A. Slip into the Ribbon Mirabelle dress by Kate Spade for tea with your ladies.

B. Take in the scenes around you with these Coach Summer sunglasses.

C. Every Southern girl loves her pearls. We love this Pave Pearl Necklace from Ann Taylor.

D. Keep your table linens organized and adorable with these Fleur de Lys napkin rings from Sur La Table.

E. Keep the sun off your face and look like a movie star in this floppy brimmed hat.

F. This chevron-striped clutch would look fab against your outfit.

G. Dress up your tables with the Belle Boulevard China collection from Kate Spade.

H. Fill up your glass with this Drink Dispenser from Pier 1 Imports.

I. Cheers with this gem-colored champagne flute from Anthropologie.

J. This rose stationery from Minted will look lovely on your writing desk.

K. Cut off a sliver of this floral and vanilla Beekman 1803 soap for your powder room.

L. Line the steps to your front door with these mini boxwood trees.

What do you think of our finds? Tell us in the comments below and be on the lookout for more inspiration!

Y’all, this was one of the toughest decisions I have ever, ever had to make. How in the world can I choose just one feature from Southern Weddings V3 as my favorite? I absolutely, positively adore so many parts of V3. What’s a girl to do?

Well, I’ve flipped through V3 a total of 23 times to finally make up my mind, but I am positive about my decision. My favorite feature from V3 just had to be the Up, Up and Away Southern honeymoon feature shot by fabulous photographers Jose Villa and Jen Curtis.

Could there be anything more romantic than sailing away with your fine gent in a multicolored hot air balloon to your honeymoon destination? I’d be hard-pressed to find a better form of transportation.

Then there’s that gorgeous couple. Between her Anthropologie dress (that matches the hot air balloon perfectly) and his Southern ensemble courtesy of local Chapel Hill favorite, Julians, this couple is sheer Southern honeymooning perfection.

I think my very favorite part of the feature are the eight fabulous honeymoon destinations. Some of the best and brightest writers in the wedding industry agreed to write about their favorite Southern honeymoon spots and I’m just dying to hop in the car and visit every single place. Are you in? Let’s go!

This trip down V3 memory lane has made me even more excited for all of the fabulous features in V4! It’s coming soon, y’all, and we just can’t wait till you see it!

Wanting more V3 nostalgia? Check out EmilyNicole and Marissa’s favorite features:
Joey & Jessica’s Cover Shoot
Amelia Lyon’s Sweet Love
Jose Villa’s Something Blue

Do you want to see all of the wonderful vendors that worked on this feature? Just check it out in our editorial gallery!

Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

Y’all, tell me, what is better than the weekend? Few things compare, except say, the weekend + close friends + ice cream + movies. That’s a winning combination! You know what I’ll be doing tomorrow and Sunday. Before you take off with your fantastic plans, let’s round-up the week!

We’ve had sooo many great things appear on the blog this week! First up was one of our favorites, the Southern Bride of the Month! Bride-to-be, Lauren met her fiance in kindergarten and is now planning her dream Texas wedding! (Really, y’all, she’s been collecting inspiration since high school!)

Emily gave y’all a little sneak peek behind the scenes of our latest photo shoot for V4 with Katie Stoops. Remember that time Sierra modeled as a bridesmaid? I do!

To hold us all over until V4 hits the stands, Marissa shared her favorite feature from V3, Something Blue by Jose Villa. She wanted to live in the blue and white gorgeousness from these spreads! Take a look and you’ll understand why.

Y’all know the South is steeped in tradition, so over the next few months, Marissa is going to give us all a history lesson! (We will admit, there are a few that we’re still curious about.) First up? The groom’s cake! Go to the original post to learn all about this yummy tradition.

Emily’s engaged! I can’t say it enough, I’m so excited! A few weeks ago, we asked you for your opinion on engagement rings. Now, Emily’s back to share her engagement story and ring hunt! Read all about it here.

Vendors, we issued you our first “Ultimate Southern” challenge this week! We want to know your most creative ideas for escort cards! We hope that brides everywhere will be executing these ideas soon enough! Go to the original post to get more details on how to submit.

Calling all Southern bride bloggers! We’re setting up a new page on the Southern Weddings blog for all you fellow bloggers. Tell us a little more about yourself and find out how to get on the page here!

We know there’s a ton to think about and do when you’re planning a wedding. I hope I can make it a little bit easier with my new How-To column! Read up on how to send your invitations here, where I gave you the basics on calligraphy, envelopes, mailing and stamps!

We know you can’t resist a photo booth! This week’s giveaway is going to help you make those silly photos even more fun! Say Cheese! Paper Props are the perfect addition to your wedding’s photo booth and you could win a specially made kit for Southern Weddings! Go to the original post to enter.

Emily spotted Southern utensil wrappings this week! These cowboy boot utensil packets are just so darn cute!

This week, Marissa is dishing out some tidbits about herself. We love Marissa! I think you will too when you Sit a Spell with her and get to know this fabulous lady!

Sierra shared Meg + Josh’s love story and wedding in this week’s Real Wedding Gallery. We’re crazy for the red and yellow details!
