Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

Happy Friday! I’m delighted to report that our V6 photo shoot on Tuesday was a smashing success. I can’t give too much away, but I can say that many of our favorite things were present, including farm animals and lots of yummy Southern food! While that shoot was the biggest part of our week, we also shared lots of pretty weddings and some fun features here on the blog. Let’s take a look!

I shared my Dream Southern Summer Wedding this week–an elegant, urban wedding, complete with lots of charming Southern details. See it here.

We love Real Weddings!

Even with a 400+ person guest list, Britt and Ren managed to make their Georgia polo farm wedding feel relaxed and intimate. No easy feat, but they pulled it off beautifully! See it here.

Marjorie and Adnan’s barn wedding was full of beautiful handmade details, many of which were made with love by Marjorie’s mom! See it here.

I wish I could have been a guest at Sarah and Nick’s wedding–it looks like it was so much fun, and their love and joy is so evident in their pictures. See it here.

Few things sound prettier to me than a peony-filled springtime wedding in Virginia, and Kristen and Patrick’s wedding certainly proves that! See it here.

Before we head into Labor Day weekend…

This week has been full of cake stands, dish towels and corn fields, which can only mean one thing–a V6 shoot is fast approaching! One of our biggest V6 editorial shoots is coming up next week, and excited is an understatement for how we feel about shooting it and sharing it with y’all. Get ready for some fun sneak peeks on Instagram on Tuesday, but until then, let’s take a look back at the beautiful features and weddings on the blog this week!

Kristin’s Dream Southern Summer Wedding turned the Fourth of July into a chic, stylish day full of patriotic colors and sparkle. Who knew the Fourth could be so glamorous? See it here.

One of the highlights of our week was the opportunity to share Beth and Brody’s incredible six-month anniversary shoot. They are a true example of how love never fails! See it here.

So many pretty (and pink!) real weddings!

The mountain views at Kaylie and Noah’s Virginia wedding were incredible, and the pink details they used were so sweet! See it here.

Nichole and Ricky struck the perfect balance between sentimental and joyful on their wedding day. Everything from their venue (Historic Cedarwood) to their coral blooms were lovely! See it here.

The seersucker gown we featured in the V4 Paper, Cotton, Flour shoot is an all-time favorite for many of us (there’s even a picture of it on my bulletin board), so we were delighted to see that it inspired a real bride! April pulled the gown off beautifully, and her and Nick’s wedding was the perfect backdrop for such an unconventional dress choice. See it here.

We were so impressed by the way every single detail at Celie and Shane’s wedding overflowed with meaning. Their perspective on planning a wedding is inspiring! See it here.

Last but not least!

It’s Facebook Friday, so be sure to stop by and see a lovely engagement session by Nyk + Cali!

One of our favorite Southern wedding gown designers, Heidi Elnora, is opening her first full service bridal boutique in Birmingham, Alabama, and y’all are invited to the grand opening! The celebration will be held at the new Heidi Elnora Atelier at 4128 Crosshaven Lane on August 29 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. As a little preview, check out this video showing how a single Heidi Elnora dress can be styled 11 different ways–we love that!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

Hi y’all! We have three V6 shoots and a handful of #summerdoins left on our list before fall kicks in, but we are enjoying every last bit of summer and hope you are too! Our office was full for a few days this week, thanks to Marissa and Kristin making their way to Chapel Hill for the annual team photo shoot, and it was so much fun having everyone together. Marissa and I hadn’t even met in person until Tuesday!

Our team photo shoot day was so full of blessings, from the most perfect weather, to lots of time spent laughing together, to the talented Landon and Jordan of Landon Jacob Photography, who captured the whole thing. This picture is from their Instagram, and was taken in Fearrington Village at the very end of our shoot. Landon and Jordan, we are so grateful for y’all!

Nicole was next up in our Dream Southern Summer Wedding series, and no surprise, her inspiration was perfectly bright, cheerful and fun. Wouldn’t you love to be invited to such a lovely lakeside soiree? See it here.

Oh, how we love the South! The simple joys that are so prevalent here are one of Lara’s biggest reasons, and we would love to hear yours too. Hop on over to her Why We Love the South post and let us know!

Kristin dove into her second Hint for a Happy Marriage: use your words. It’s no secret that communication is an essential part of any great relationship, and Kristin’s advice for making that happen is a must-read.

Southern hospitality is a huge part of both our mission and the overall culture of the South, so we were smitten with this beautiful hospitality-inspired shoot. Pineapples are a very common symbol for hospitality, and I can’t get over the beautiful way this team incorporated them! See it here.

Yay, real weddings!

After a romantic birthday proposal in New York City, Janet and Collin did an amazing job of using DIY details in their North Carolina wedding without losing an ounce of elegance in the process. See it here.

I believe that when you meet the right person, it’s possible to know in your heart right away that they’re the one. Erica and Danny most certainly did, and their wedding was such a joyful celebration of their love for each other and their little boy. See it here.

There are so many things we loved about Adrienne and Bryan’s wedding, from her glittery Kate Spade heels, to the adorable goat picture on their bar menu, to the dreamy South Carolina scenery, to the story of how Bryan proposed with his grandmother’s ring. See it here.

Last but not least!

Today is Facebook Friday, and we have a lovely engagement session by Elizabeth Kitchens to share!

Congratulations to our Blue Ribbon Vendor, Haley Sheffield, on the launch of her lovely new brand! I can’t stop admiring her gorgeous website, so be sure to take a look here.

Alabama brides, take note! Simply Wed Studio is a brand new wedding planning studio and vendor community in Birmingham that celebrated their grand opening yesterday. We know y’all are going to love them!

Happy weekend!
