I’ve often thought about what I’d like to give as a bridesmaid gift. I only plan on having four ‘maids, so I’d love to go all out and shower them with adorable, hand-picked and personalized items. I often feel like there’s a fair amount of pressure in these gifts, too. How can it help you say “thank you” to the ladies who have been by your side from years, helped you plan your wedding (maybe saw a few breakdowns…), planned your showers and then cheered you on to the altar?

The Paper Cottage makes it so easy. Y’all, they have even a dropdown menu item that says “Bridesmaid Gifts.” (They also have a “Groomsmen Gifts” section, too, if your beau needs a hand.) Their shop is filled with adorable patterns and gifts that can be personalized with a monogram. Best of all, these gifts are useful and I can imagine any bridesmaid would fondly remember who gave it to her when she used it.

You bet we hopped right on board with a giveaway when The Paper Cottage told us about their Nico and Lala Monogrammed Picture Frames. Who can resist bright colors, fun patterns and a monogram?

To Enter: There are three ways to enter!
1. Leave a comment below telling us about your favorite memory with one (or all) or your bridesmaids.
2. Tweet “I just entered the @PaperCottage giveaway on @iloveswmag!” Then come back here and leave a SEPARATE comment telling us you did so.
3. Like Southern Weddings and The Paper Cottage on Facebook. Then come back here and leave a SEPARATE comment telling us you did so.

Win: A Nico and Lala Monogrammed Picture Frame for every gal in your bridal party (up to six bridesmaids).

This giveaway closes May 29 at midnight. Good luck!

I’ll be having three bridesmaids at my wedding: two I’ve known since sophomore year of college and one I’ve known since freshman year of high school (but we weren’t close when we were away at college, unfortunately). My favorite moments with these girls usually involve mimosas, brunch, and shameless girl talk. We always wind up putting on a DVD of our favorite TV shows (How I Met Your Mother, Happy Endings) and cheersing to ourselves. No matter which combination of the three I’m with, I always find myself laughing beyond appropriate amounts and spewing countless inside jokes (much to the dismay of their significant others–sorry, guys!). We’re so “those people” who are having way more fun than we rightfully should :)

I have a handful of girls that have been there for me on various occasions, under many circumstances. Some of these will have to get an honorable mention for being with me through it all. As for the ones that I will have as my bridesmaids, they include 2 friends,2 cousins, and my 2 sisters :) My favorite memory with my soon-to-be bridesmaids would be at my 15th birthday party. We went ice skating which was my dream come true. I had not been but had been dreaming of it for basically all of my childhood, and even the boys wore pink for me, as that was my favorite color. That is when I realized that my family and some friends would do anything to make me happy and ensure that I have a great & special day. They are supportive, fun, caring and unique women. I am so proud of each and every one of them and cannot wait to share each others’ special day with one another. Unconditional love is a must.

I have so many memories I don’t even know where to begin. My sister is my MOH and of course growing up there are thousands to pick from. Half are college sorority sisters and the other half are girls I went to high school with. Along the years they’ve all seen me at my best and my worst.

My favorite memory that involves all of them is asking each one to be apart of my wedding. I gave them each a bottle of wine that I made my own label for. It read “I found a man, but I still need my girls! Will you be my bridesmaid?” Along with a cute poem on the back. As much as my girls love to drink wine, they’ve all kept them as special keepsakes.

My favorite memory with one of my bridesmaids, Katie, goes all the way back to freshman year at the University of Texas. We both have a love for country music and our favorite song was “Helplessly, Hopelessly, Recklessly” by Jessica Andrews. On a daily basis, we had girl talk about all the cute new boys we were meeting at college and would blast and sing our fave Jessica Andrews song at the top of our lungs in our dorm room. So much fun!

I have 5 amazing ladies who’ll be standing next to me on my wedding day. My MOH and I have been friends literally every single day of my life. Who can say that about a friend?! She has been by my side for every birthday, every scraped knee, every heartbreak, and of course was one of the first to learn of our engagement! She’s been so helpful in the planning process and I can’t wait to stand by her side in her own wedding next year! Although we aren’t related, Teresa IS my sister in every way that counts.

My little sister is my maid of honor, and my favorite memory is when she lived with me one summer while taking a college summer class! Living together as young adults is so much different than when were were kids, so it was a great experience!

  12. avatar Theresa reply

My sister is my matron of honor. My favorite memories with her are so many, but I just love the ones of us as kids playing outside all summer long, from riding our bikes to having our Kool-Aid stands :)

My sister (my matron of honor) and I went on a sisters’ trip prior to her wedding. She and I went to Dublin, Paris and Rome together (her 1st trip to Europe) and had an AMAZING time. She and I made memories I will never forget and had a final hurrah as just 2 unmarried sisters.

  17. avatar Afton C. reply

My favorite memories is with my maid of honor, Mikki. I have recently moved to another state and we have been missing each other dearly! The thing I miss most of all is our coffee dates to talk about our stressful jobs! We both work in the mental health field and our coffee time was “our time” to be each others therapists! Now we have to settle for Skype sessions, but as long as we get to keep in contact it is great. I can’t wait for the wedding to spend the weekend with her and all of our other wonderful friends! She and all my other bridesmaids would love this picture frame as a gift!

  18. avatar Sarah reply

I liked them on Facebook :)
I also thought I would share my favorite memory of one of my bridesmaids (my maid of honor actually) — she and I have been best buddies since the 2nd grade so picking just one memory was VERY hard, but I’d have to say my favorite is when we first met; she picked me as her ‘favorite’ friend in 2nd grade to pass out cupcakes with her for her birthday and her dad has the video of it so we will always remember our first ‘big’ memory together. We have been best friends ever since!

My little sister is my maid of honor. We’ve spent our whole lives getting into trouble and getting away with more than we should have. For years we would sneak from our bedrooms to the hallway balcony so we could eavesdrop on our parents. But my favorite memory happened only a few months ago, when we snuck onto the same balcony to overhear my (now) fiancé asking my mom’s blessing to propose! She’s really been with me through everything and I’m so lucky to have such a great sister!

My favorite memory with one of my bridesmaids was a float trip we took in the Ozarks. The two of us stranded ourselves from the pack and took a walk along the river talking about all sorts of things. We ended up finding an old drink koozie with some hillbilly saying on it and we carried it with us all the way back to our raft. I still have the koozie and I want to give it to her as a funny part of her bridesmaid gift.

What a cute frame! One of my favorite memories is with my bridesmaid, Crystal. She and I have been best friends since the 7th grade. We’d go to her family’s farm after school, make pizza bagel bites, then go ride horses bareback in one of the fields. We would sit up in the hayloft and talk for hours until our moms would make us leave. It’s so wonderful to have sweet memories like that …and to know there are so many more to come!

  37. avatar Jessica reply

My favorite memories of my bridesmaids are those that include roadtrips, football games, and/or ice-cream for sure! Love my gals!

Love these for my girls! While I have tons of memories (particularly with my three cousins and my best friend from high school), my favorite memory is when my bridesmaid, Rebecca, visited my fiance and I when we lived abroad. We had a fabulous week!

Oh y’all! We’re always on board for a great giveaway, but this one has got us over-the-moon excited! One of the most common things brides tell us was worth splurging for is a great photographer. We all know that nothing could replace the images from your big day, and finding a photographer you love is so important.

Maile Lani and Southern Weddings partnered up for a giveaway two years ago, and we just ate up all of the responses we received. In the end, Bonnie + Brent won and a year later, we featured their lovely Florida wedding on the blog. (See it here and here.)

Of course, we hopped right on board when Maile suggested we partner up for another giveaway! Don’t her romantic Southern photos and light-play just steal your heart?

Readers, now is your chance! If you’re planning a 2013 Southern wedding, follow the directions below to win a great photography package from Maile!

The lucky winner will receive the free wedding package described above but will be responsible for travel and accommodation fees for Maile, who is based in New Orleans. This contest closes on May 11. Then, we’ll post our three finalists on the blog and open it up to a vote!

Good luck! We can’t wait to see who will win!!
