Before we unleash the goodness that is the V5 editorials beginning next week, we wanted to sneak in one more shoot that was submitted to us! This one, dreamed up by Dogwood Events and jem events, is just perfect for this time of year — warm and rustic, with deep, beautiful colors. Big thanks to Djijo Studios for the lovely photos, too!

An apple cider bar – YUM! I love the apples in the centerpieces, too!

Cinnamon sticks at each place setting would smell amazing, wouldn’t they? Big impact for such an inexpensive detail.

A little more from the planner and stylist:

This October, we got together with an amazing team of wedding professionals for a fun vintage rustic fall inspiration shoot at Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, VA. We wanted to show engaged couples that you can create a relaxed, rustic look for your wedding that can still look elegant and won’t end up breaking the bank. We searched for a location that not only had a gorgeous barn, but gorgeous landscaping and views as well. With a renovated barn overlooking the Potomac River and endless amounts of photo opportunities, Riverside on the Potomac was the perfect location for us to shoot.

Thanks again, y’all!

Love the apples! Any combination of fruit, nuts, berries wheat, or corn would honor my dad. I`m a little long in the tooth to do such but even I can dream. Sure did enjoy these flowers! Thanks for the memories.

Hey, y’all!

Emily’s merlot + champagne vineyard inspiration board from last week had me really excited to pull some fun finds that correspond to the rich color palette. I was filled with visions of fall in the North Carolina vineyards, cozy sweaters and scarves, wood accents and, of course, popping open a nice bottle of wine. Whether you’re planning a vineyard wedding, traveling through wine country for your honeymoon or just in love with these colors, these picks will have you dreaming in merlot + champagne.

A. The bold stripe of color in this China set will dress up any table and will look fabulous on display in your china cabinet.

B. Nothing makes me feel cozy the way a scarf does. I love this one from Madewell. With it’s rich colors and type, it’s reminiscent of rustic wine crates and cotton labels.

C. These bottles and wood stoppers bring some of the rustic elements of the vineyard to your bar and table. The best part is that they can be customized with a monogram!

D. I love the many used of these authentic wine crates. Guests can toss cards in them at the wedding and after, you can use them as containers or planters.

E. Finish off the ensemble with these beautiful suede boots from Tory Burch. With no heel and a rich chocolate-y color, they’re a wardrobe staple.

F. We know you’re the ever-prepared hostess. This vintage wood cheese board is just the ticket to making your guests feel welcome.

G. Jet off to your honeymoon in vineyard-inspired fashion. Kate Spade’s patent leather passport holder is both pretty and practical.

H. Show your family and friends how much you love them with some chocolate-dipped madeleines. We won’t tell if you get a few for yourself, too.

I. Keep track of your travels through wine country with these notebooks made from historical maps.

J. If our merlot and champagne colors don’t make you feel decadent, then this red wine chocolate cake recipe from Smitten Kitchen surely will.

What do you think of our color palette finds? Any color palette suggestions? Let us know in the comments below!

These are complicated deep colors, which show knowing a lot about the beauty and demonstrate good taste and the depth of the inner content. Would be perfect for winter wedding!

We know we’re a long way from the crisp + cool fall months, but for those of you newly-engaged brides planning an autumn wedding, Tiffany + Ryan’s Florida wedding at the Cross Creek Ranch has your name on it! Kallie Brynn photographed the darling duo, and we’re sure glad she did. The bride wore a traditional cap sleeve dress from David’s Bridal, and her ‘maids were decked out in color-coordinated frocks, also from D.B. A sweet touch? Tiffany’s cousin, Susan, designed the rustic blooms herself! Made with love, indeed.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. Ryan and I met through two mutual friends – both named Ryan! The three Ryans (or the tripod as they have affectionately called themselves) have been friends since high school and were mutual friends with me through work. We had met at one of the Ryan’s graduation party (I know, it can get confusing) but the sparks didn’t fly until we met up again at an XBOX 360 Halo party. I shot him in the head, and he was pretty much mine after that.
Describe the proposal. We are a pretty low-key couple, and for our anniversary we decided to go see District 9 and then hit up Gameworks. Ah, nerd love. After running to the car in the midst of a rainstorm, Ryan popped the question as I sat shocked in his Volkswagen Rabbit. He couldn’t even get out an entire sentence; all he was able to say was, “Will you?” I wouldn’t have it any other way! I still get to give him a hard time about not getting on one knee.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Lively, funny and romantic.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: My favorite detail was the table numbers that I had commissioned from TheFutureMrsDarcy on Etsy.com. I fell in love with her just by her user name and on a whim asked her if she could create a custom listing for me. We named each of our tables after a Harry Potter spell as a nod to our love of the boy wizard and also hopefully as a conversation starter. Each table had the spell name listed and a description of what that particular spell does. I even tried to make our seating chart based on what spells I thought each table would need! For example, my Dad is a very lively character so his table “Muffliato” is a spell that would be used to muffle your conversations from innocent bystanders. Ryan’s favorite detail was the glasses I had commissioned again on Etsy.com for us and our bridal party. Each glass had a cartoon version of each member of our party, their name, and their title. It was a unique gift idea and a huge hit with our friends who carried them around all night and refused to drink out of anything else.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I went to David’s Bridal with all five of my bridesmaids. The plan was for me to trying on dresses and hopefully get an idea of what kind of bridesmaid’s dresses we wanted. We never thought anyone would be getting a dress when we all arrived. Fast forward two hours later, and we were lined up at the check-out counter and every last one of us had picked out and purchased a dress.
