Every now and then, a wedding pops up that looks more like a photo shoot than a real-life wedding – and Cheryl + Collin’s celebration from Duston Todd Photography is one of those gems. I mean really, folks: could this wedding get any cuter? I’m head-over-heels in love with the newlyweds’ cozy-chic fashion choices: his + her argyle + striped socks, the bride’s Durango Boots and the ladies’ hunter green wraps.
Describe your wedding flowers: My friend Alyse is a triple threat. She makes amazing jewelry, constructs incredible flower designs, and makes delicious gourmet chocolates!
Describe your wedding cake: The wedding cake was also a homemade creation – but this time it was of our friend Sashie Misner’s mind. She and her husband Mike are close friends of Collin’s family. Mike worked for Bob Del Cuore for years and Sashie moonlights as a master cake chef! How lucky we were to have her dream up such an awesome creation – it had photos and little details with such personalization. It was great.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? How everyone would get there. The Del Cuore “compound” is about an hour from Portland, ME, and three hours from Boston, MA. Most people had to fly into Boston and rent a car and drive up. Finding the town of Norway is one thing, but you have really accomplished something if you found the house.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? I don’t think one thing could be deemed “most memorable” – the whole weeklong extravaganza played out just as our wildest dreams had manifested (minus the preceding rain). We planned a renewal of vows for Collin’s brother Tobin and his husband Michael to take place on our deck, overlooking the lawn and garden. Collin’s mother did the honors, and her wit and charm were out of this world. Her “consummation” of “you are now un-lawfully wed” was a breath of fresh air, and it really added to the magical quality of the day.
Did you write your own vows? If so, what was your favorite phrase, verse or line? We wrote our own vows. Is there any other better way than to speak from our own hearts? I loved repeating something he said to me: “I feel empowered by you, empowered by us.”
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Starting a family, and our own empire!
alright sw ladies – how, how, how do you get the grey suits? do the guys alllll have to buy them? or do rental places offer the suit option now instead of the tux? i want the grey pant and vest option, just like the guys above. help a southern sister out!

Hi Libby! Great question! Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of great suit rental options out there. I did do a quick Google search, and found one — Jim’s Formal Wear — that supplies to 6,000 retailers, but they only offer navy, black, and khaki! I don’t think it’s necessary to make all of the guys buy a new gray suit, however, as I think a range of grays looks nice (and means they can wear what they have, if they already have something in gray).
