How to choose?? I adore Katherine’s Amsale, but Ashley’s Lazaro is another of my favorites! So many beautiful Southern brides!

I hope the wedding(and other formal) dress with pockets trend fizzles out soon.

    • avatar Emily reply

Aww, I love that trend! The pockets usually don’t interfere with the lines of the dress, and what could be more convenient than pockets?!

I LOVE Katharine’s streamlined preppy dress AND Sidney’s classic lace dress. STUNNING!

We’re back with more of our Bridal Market coverage — I hope you’re ready for some serious fashion!

Day two kicked off with the dramatic couture collection from Ines DiSanto. Her collection featured lots of lace and intricate beadwork. My favorite gown was “Glory,” with its Italian lace and sweetheart neckline. Plus, seeing it up close made me love it even more! After the show we were escorted backstage to meet the chic Ms. Ines, and we totally did a double-cheek kiss! I felt so fancy!

We then headed to The Intercontinental Hotel where Whitney found her own room – literally! We were escorted to the front row for the Maggie Sottero show where we saw ruffles, ruffles and more ruffles. Plus, a great selection of removable black accent belts.

I feel so New York in the taxi photo above. I think I might have even hailed this one!

Next we went to the Modern Trousseau showroom. Callie and her team could not have been more welcoming! I fawned over the Thai silk and chantilly lace she used on her gowns. The dresses were SO sweet and Southern I must have died about 50 times. We even gave them a special preview of V4! Keep an eye out Nashville ladies, the Modern Trousseau girls will be moving into town early next year.

We were so thrilled to see dear friend and SW favorite Ms. Ashley Baber on our way to the Anne Barge show! Speaking of Anne Barge, this lady never disappoints! Her collection was classic and oh-so-Southern with a great pop of gold in the finale! Check out that veil!

After the show we had to stop and chat with V2 cover model Adair. She told us she recently got married in Napa and guess who she wore… Anne Barge, of course! She is just so sweet and we couldn’t be happier for her!

All these lovely images are courtesy of the super-talented (and Southern I might add) Mr. Trent Bailey.

I sure hope you’re enjoying our Bridal Market coverage! My partner in crime Miss Whitney will be back in a few with more gowns to gawk over, so don’t go too far!

Totally random question unrelated to the Bridal Market….Marissa, where did you get your purse???? I love!

    • avatar Marissa reply

Hey Jordan! Not unrelated as it’s still fashion! : ) My bag is an Isabella Fiore from a few seasons ago. Don’t you love it? My only qualm is it’s very heavy with all the studs! xo, Marissa

That’s right, y’all! These Southern girls are headed North (for the weekend, that is)! Whitney and I could NOT be more excited about our upcoming trip to the Big Apple for New York’s Bridal Market. We’ll be getting up close and personal with all the gorgeous collections of designer dresses for Fall 2012 to bring you, our lovely brides, the best and most Southern gowns and glittering goodies!

Whitney: I just had to jump in, because I’m too excited to let Marissa make this fantastic announcement all by herself! This will be my first time attending Bridal Market, and I’m just as happy as can be to get the chance to see all of the gorgeousness from our favorite bridal designers. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it, right Marissa?

Here’s a little rundown on all the fabulous details of our trip!

What exactly is Bridal Market? It’s so much fun, y’all! No, really! Bridal Market is a gathering of the best of the best in bridal fashion from all over the world. It’s also where wedding gown and accessory designers introduce their collections for the next season. Think Fashion Week – only better! We were thrilled to be invited to cover all the loveliness! Let me tell you, last year I think I said “Oh my gosh, y’all!” over 100 times. Just ask Lara!

When will the SW ladies be there? We’ll be jetting into NYC in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday and heading back below the Mason-Dixon on Monday night.

What designers will you be seeing? This might be my favorite part! We’ll be heading to the shows of Claire Pettibone, Amsale, Junko Yoshioka, Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier, Anne Barge, Watters and a few more! Yeehaw! Yep, we’re planning on fitting all those lovely gowns into just three short days!

We’ll also be keeping you all in the loop: we’ll have tweet-coverage LIVE all weekend long, so be sure to follow along with us: Southern Weddings, Marissa and Whitney.

Are you going to be there? You know what else we love besides silk, lace and ribbon? Seeing old friends and making new ones! If you see us at Market, we’d simply adore it if you’d come say “howdy!” P.S. We’re from the South, so we’re huggers! Can’t find us? Tweet us, Facebook us or email us! We’ll be sure to say “hey!”.

If you can’t wait until October 15th, get your fill with all of last year’s goodness. It was so huge we had to break it into eight pieces! 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5, 6, 7 and 8.
