This is a very exciting time in the Southern Weddings office! Gorgeous images from our V6 photo shoots, dreamy real weddings, lots of Southern images, and the prettiest of surcees are rolling into our office daily, and Nicole is already hard at work creating beautiful pages. Y’all may have seen a sneak peek or two if you follow us on Instagram, but I have to reiterate–this issue is going to be a good one. We can’t wait to share it in November!

Even though we have been wrapped up in all things V6 lately, we all still thumb through copies of V5 regularly. There is so much wonderful, meaningful, Southern inspiration in those pretty pages! We are so happy to announce that you can now flip through all of the V5 goodness yourself whenever you want, because V5 is now digital! Click here to take a look. Of course, we also still have plenty of copies available to purchase in the Southern Weddings Shop, along with V4 and V2.

As a little refresher of what can be found in V5, or an introduction if you’re new to Southern Weddings, here are a few favorite shots from some V5 editorials!

The Yellow Rose of Texas, photographed by Ryan Ray Our V5 cover was taken from this lovely shoot!

My Kentucky Rose, photographed by Jen Huang. This picture is framed in the stairwell leading up to the SW office, so we see it every day!

Family Heirlooms, photographed by Eric Kelley. This shoot will definitely go down in history as a Southern Weddings favorite.

Freshly Squeezed, photographed by KT Merry. This colorful shoot was inspired by an iconic Southern favorite, Lilly Pulitzer.

Blue Ribbon Bounty, photographed by Joey and Jessica. A dozen Southern pies were used in the making of this fun shoot!

This is just a tiny sampling of the goodness found in V5, so be sure to take a look at the digital edition for lots more! We’d love to hear–what’s your favorite part of V5?

Happy Friday, my dear friends! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready to do absolutely nothing this weekend. Emily and I traveled to South Carolina for another V6 photo shoot this week and the next four weekends are full of my own personal travel plans. So I intend to just enjoy my apartment for the next two days (and catch up with my momma on Sunday, of course!).

Speaking of travel, we were blissfully (and okay, jealously,) soaking in the photos from Emily’s honeymoon to Nevis, where she and John stayed at the beautiful Montpelier Plantation and Nisbet Plantation.

With two shoots for V6 now finished, we think it’s high time we gave you a proper sneak peek! Last week’s shoot with Katie Stoops was berry exciting!

We’re even giving away two High Cotton bow ties from the shoot to celebrate! Enter here.

We think moms are the backbone of the South and love that weddings and Mother’s Day are both wonderful excuses to publicly honor them. We posted a few of our favorite mom-centered wedding moments.

Real weddings steal our hearts!

Molly Gee + Justin’s Mississippi wedding was full of lovely details, gorgeous flowers and the bride’s own designs! See it here.

Kelly + Corey’s military wedding proved that distance is no obstacle in the face of true love! See it here.

Some happy news for the weekend

Congratulations to all of the winners of our Southern Surcees Giveaway! Olivia won the Butter My Butt and Call Me A Biscuit book, Melissa B. won the pink bow clutch, Cait T. won the engraved iced tea spoons, Holly won the “Bless Your Heart” pendants, Peyton won the Lilly Pulitzer iPhone 4/4S case in Delta Zeta and Kathleen won the state tea towel in North Carolina! Winners, be on the lookout for an email from me!

We just love Sarah’s Stands and are so excited to hear that she’s debuting a new collection on Monday. The Simply Stunning collection is beautiful, durable and affordable. Read all about her new products here and head to her shop to snatch up one of these lovelies before they’re gone!

If you’re local to the Chapel Hill area, save the date for our next yard sale on May 18 from 9 am to 11 am. We’re clearing out our closets and selling general wedding supplies such as books, fabric, candles and votives, vases and glassware. All proceeds will go to charity. Email me at [email protected] for address information!

Be sure to head over to our Facebook Friday. Dianne Lisette is sharing something pretty with us!

We’re sending out hugs and happy thoughts to all the belles and beaus getting married this weekend, including our Southern Bride Blogger, Elizabeth! Congrats, y’all!

Enjoy the weekend! Do you have any fun plans? Tell me about them in the comments below.

How is everyone this week? With the weather as lovely as it’s been, I feel like we should all meet for a picnic to do this round-up.

We started off the week with another model call! If you’re near Hilton Head, we’d love to have your pretty face in the next issue! Check this post for more details.

Our tummies were seriously growling after reading about this week’s Southern Delicacy: hushpuppies! Be sure to read about how they got their name. Be warned: you’ll be hungry afterward.

We have a special place in our hearts for Lilly Pulitzer. We wanted to take a few minutes this week to honor her life and find inspiration in her philosophy.

Now that we’ve officially moved into the “April showers” part of the year, we can take a look back on some behind the scenes action from March!

Our little shop just keeps on growing! Since we’re all about surcees and generally lovin’ on people, we’re excited to announce the addition of our Southern Saying Enclosure Cards!

We just adore real weddings!

We all about died over Casey + Craig’s wedding. Not only does it involve sweet farm animals, but it was genuinely crafted and beautiful. See it here.

Sara + Dom’s wedding from V5 made it’s way to the blog in all its elegant blue glory. We love their outdoor ceremony and the way they intentionally planned their reception to be a big dinner party. See it here and here.

Melissa + Corey’s fall wedding boasted beautiful weather, lots of joy and the most adorable mountain-inspired getting ready wardrobe! See it here.

Good news for the weekend!

Be sure to head on over to ShopAtHome.com this week! We’re featured on their “Bloggers We Love” page, where Emily sat down and gave some insight into her favorite things about weddings and the South.

Now that some of the major wedding planning pieces have been taken care of for my sister’s wedding, she’s started to think about her honeymoon. I love the idea of using Wanderable to give amazing honeymoon experiences, especially because she and her fiancé already have plenty of home goods! Be sure to check out our post on them here for more information on honeymoon registries!

Don’t forget to hop on over to our Facebook Friday! Landon Jacob Photography is sharing an engagement session that we just adore.

We are so excited for all the belles and beaus getting married this weekend! Big hugs go out to all of you, including our Southern Bride Blogger, Lauren!!

Have a marvelously fun weekend, my friends!

SO ready for you guys to have your model call in Fort Worth! I’ll be there with bells on!

These mountain shots are fantastic. As a southern girl who grew up in North Carolina and settled in Texas, the scenery and theme make my heart happy. (And LOVE the behind the scenes shots, especially the monogramed hat!)
