For us, March was all about the arrival of springtime and we took to Instagram, filling it up with #SouthernDoin’s. Temperatures are warming up here in North Carolina, so I predict even more springy goodness for April! Here’s what we were up to last month, in and out of the office.

1. Emily’s Great Day mug and lots of to do lists filled her desk as she prepared for V6 shoots!

2. Lara, Ari and Grace took advantage of the warmer temperatures and visited the belted goats at Fearrington.

3. Kristin celebrated family birthdays at Lexington BBQ with some seriously delicious Southern delicacies.

4. Marissa took her office outside in order to pretend it was the South!

5. I added some very cool new office supplies to my collection: 80’s Glam Sharpies!

6. Kristin traveled to the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, NC, to cheer on the Tar Heels with her hubs, Kyle. (Go Heels!)

7. Lara and I worked on fun shop goodies and new projects.

8. I went to Downtown Raleigh for First Friday and came across this gem. It’s North Carolina inside a mason jar on a onesie!

9. Marissa and her handsome husband attended a Spring Training team BBQ for the Padres.

10. Lara did some painting for her shop!

11. Receipts times two from Emily’s Easter weekend. “Paying for the person behind us in line is one of my favorite traditions,” she says.

12. Marissa celebrated spring with a little floral bow business! Too cute, we say!

13. Kristin and Kyle drove down to North Carolina for Easter weekend. “I was bouncing off the walls of the car on the way down the mountain,” said Kristin. “I was so excited to spend time with my sweet family!”

14. Emily made a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake for Easter dinner dessert. According to Em, it was as good as it sounds!

15. Polka dots + pink nails made working on tax prep with Lara so much more fun for Marissa! At least, that’s what she told herself :)

16. Lara, Emily and Gina hosted a successful Making Things Happen conference with some amazing ladies!

17. With warmer temperatures around the corner, I picked up my first strawberry plants with my dad!

18. Lara and Ari celebrated 7 years of marriage! Yay!!

What did y’all do in March? What were the highlights of your month?

Friends! I am so very, very, very excited to be writing today’s post! One of our favorite traditions with each edition of the magazine is to invite readers to — literally — step into the pages. A hallmark of SW is approachability, and we can think there’s no better way to live that out than to use our actual readers in our editorials. Over the past few years we’ve had the chance to meet and work with 25+ kind and adorable ladies and gents, and we’re itching with anticipation to see who we’ll cross paths with this year!

Our first opportunity is in the Chapel Hill, NC area on Wednesday, May 1. We are particularly looking for a redhead for one of the roles, but encourage all hair/skin colors to get in touch! We’re also looking for an especially adorable little gal, aged 3-8. If chosen, we will need you to be available on site from about noon – 8pm. We might start later or end earlier, but want you to be prepared!

If you’re interested, please send an email to howdy (at) iloveswmag.com with the subject line V6 Chapel Hill Model Call. Be sure to include a recent headshot (no need for professional photos, we just want to see your lovely face!), a few candids and your height. We promise it’s going to be a blast!

P.S. Not in the Chapel Hill area? Don’t fret! Over the next few months we will be posting opportunities in Savannah, the Santa Rosa Beach, FL, area, the Fort Worth area, and outside Atlanta, among others!

You know how people always tell you to stop and smell the roses? It’s a great reminder to soak in all the little moments of your lives — surely the ones you’ll remember for years to come. In my case, it’s also a reminder to water my plants. Sadly, I may have killed my Valentine’s Day flowers form Lara on accident! (Your thoughts and support are appreciated as I try to revive them.) Though I’ve been preoccupied with the well being of my desk plants, the blog has also been busy this week hosting an assortment of beautiful details and love stories!

We tackled a Southern etiquette conundrum this week: What are the “rules” of bridal party etiquette, especially when it comes to including family? Take a look at what Kristin has to say and weigh in!

We spot a fun bridesmaid’s dress! We adore the seersucker designs Lauren chose for her ‘maids — they were the perfect compromise for a Northern groom and a Southern bride!

We were tickled pink to share a love letter written to us on the blog this week! Our dear friend Mo made us all happy gals!

Real weddings make our hearts happy!

Laura + Geoff’s fall wedding was full of family traditions and beautiful pops of red! See it here.

We were smitten with Grace + Daniel’s pastel wedding! We love how dedicated their friends and family were to contributing to the big day. See it here.

Swooning over Hailey + Rhet’s pink outdoor wedding is inevitable. It looks both glamorous and effortless at the same time. See it here and here.

Ali + Robert’s North Carolina wedding was full of beautiful fall tones and details that were perfectly “them.” See it here.

Happy News!

Our friends Sierra + Juliet at Poppies and Posies + The Trove have recently teamed up with Stephanie Singer-Eventov for a line of custom prints! The prints are a fun way to customize a wedding, party or home. They can be made into anything from a custom table runner to a bridesmaid’s dress! The prints are available in their shop. Be sure to take a look!

We’re so excited to announce the winner of our Super Southern Weddings iPad Mini Giveaway! Congratulations to Dana L.!

Caroline does a phenomenal job at trying to make sure the bride is happy and that the wedding is exactly like she wants it. She goes to great lengths to provide everything to make sure that wonderful day goes perfectly. She is very personable and easy to work with.

Yes, definitely! The groom’s sister should be in the bridal party! We have seen brides who are closer to the groom’s sister than their own!
