Southern Weddings

This month we are focusing on giving back.  There are 12 fabulous giveaways waiting in the wings (the number grows every day!) and along with these giveaways we will be introducing you to some amazing charities.  I know everyone is busy, but we want to encourage you to spend some time learning about these important causes.  We spend hours pouring through inspiring wedding details, so why not take a small bit of that time to give back?  {The Hostess with the Mostess} just posted a great entry about our first charity, {Let’s Eat Cake}, that benefit’s St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Melissa from {Masterpiece Weddings} has created this phenomenal event that you MUST read about.  We are one of the many sponsors for the event, but the real kudos go to Melissa.  What an inspiring event you have created!   Which causes are important to you?  Leave a comment and we will be sure to post them this month.

UPDATE:

How wonderful!  I just found out that Meg from {A Practical Wedding} posted my brother-in-law and now sister-in-law’s wedding on her lovely blog!  I have been meaning to post about Amy + Andy’s incredible Oregon wedding and promise to share more details very soon.  For now check out Part I, Part II, and Part III on {A Practical Wedding}.  Thank you so much, Meg, for featuring such a beautiful pair that is near and dear to my heart.  [Image at left in front of the chicken house from {Joseph Milton Photography}]  Amy was such a stunning bride!  More to come ….  Congratulations, Amy + Andy!

And now, our first post from Rachel…

We first saw highlights from this stunning wedding on one of our favorite daily reads, {OnceWed}.  Many thanks to Carrie of  {Carrie Patterson Photography} for sharing this rustic and playful affair.  How great is the mechanical bull?  I love the picture of Allison in her elegant and flowing dress holding on like a pro!  So many fun details in this wedding.  Be sure to check out Carrie’s {BLOG} for more from this very unique event.  Floral design by {Marigold Floral Studio} in Jackson Hole, WY.  Reception band {Mandatory Air}. Enjoy~ Rachel

Congratulations, Allison + Brian!

The white flowers with the dark berries is a nice touch, I really like the contrast and it promotes a certain earthiness I like. Of course the photography is phenominal. Also, the boat is an ideal drink chiller:)

On behalf of the band, I can say that we had a great time playing this reception! The guests were great fun and I saw some pretty nice moves on the dance floor. Thanks for having us!

This wedding looks like SO much fun! The mechanical bull!? It’s hard to make that "classy" but somehow they managed it! I bet their guest had a blast.

  5. avatar Marie Louise reply

Wow – this wedding looks like a blast and what a beautiful location. Where are they?! Absolutely gorgeous photography as well. Love your blog!

  6. avatar Becka Knight (Studio222 Photography) reply

I could not possibly love the image of the bride riding the bull any more. It’s fab.

This looks like such a fun wedding — the yellow Wellies, the boat with party supplies — so creative.

I love the socks on the father of the groom! (I assume that’s who that is by his seating placement.)
