Southern Weddings

I’m so excited to have our talented spring intern, Meg, on the blog today to share this sweet film with y’all! Take it away, Meg! -Lisa

Goodness, I just watched this video four times in a row and still want more! Chandler and Gavin are such a dream, and this highlights film from their Seaside, Florida wedding proves how much they love their friends, family, the South, and–most importantly–each other. Not only was Seaside a stunning setting for their big day, it was also the place where Gavin popped the question on a family vacation! Their video by our Blue Ribbon Vendor Bride Film captures such memorable scenes from the warm, sandy beach ceremony, all the way to the energetic, fun-filled reception (complete with an 80s band!). Now, if y’all don’t mind, I’m going to go click play a few more times!

What are three words you would use to describe your wedding? Elegant, unforgettable, fun
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Taking sunset photos on the beach. It gave us a few minutes to ourselves to reflect on the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then get ready to let loose with all of our family and friends! The sunset hit just as we were finishing up the photos, and turned the sky the most stunning pink. And, we had two visitors in the water…big stingrays were right at the water’s edge!
What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? Hospitality. Since all of our friends and family were traveling to come to the wedding, we hosted a casual come-and-go at my parents’ home Thursday night, a small rehearsal brunch for our wedding party and close family and friends Friday morning, a welcome bonfire on Friday night, and wedding celebrations on Saturday!
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? For us, the entire weekend spent with family and friends was the best part of the whole wedding. We felt so loved, and celebrating with them is something Gavin and I will cherish for our whole lives. I’d also say that our band was unbelievable–no one in our crowd expected a wild, costumed, 80s band to show up, but everyone is still talking about how much fun they had!
