Unique Engagement Ring Styles

by in Sponsor Love on

This post is brought to you by Zales Jewelers – thanks for your support of the brands that make Southern Weddings possible!

As y’all may have seen on Instagram, I recently took a whirlwind trip to New York City to chat about one of my favorite topics for Southern Weddings TV–engagement rings! I’ve had a ring on my left hand for almost a year now (crazy!!), but seeing it still takes me right back to the moment when I was looking at my handsome fiancé on one knee through teary eyes and I caught sight of my ring for the very first time. I had given Dave very little direction, and thankfully, he picked out something perfect for me regardless, but I do think there’s a lot of value in knowing what kind of ring you want, especially if you’re looking for something particularly unique. I loved sharing a few of my current favorite unique ring styles from Zales Jewelers in this video!

Let’s take a closer look at a few of these styles, shall we?

Composite rings, in which the “center stone” is made up of a grouping of smaller stones, create a dramatic look with tons of sparkle, but at an affordable price point. As much as we love all things traditional at Southern Weddings, we also love seeing rings that are a little bit unusual, and composite rings often remind me of the vintage pieces my grandmother may have worn. If you’re not a vintage-loving bride though, never fear–composite rings also come in beautiful, modern settings.

I’m sure y’all will agree with me when I say that having a signature color is a very Southern thing–Shelby’s blush and bashful in Steel Magnolias, anyone? If you have a sentimental connection or special tie to a certain color or gemstone, I love the idea of making your ring more “you” by incorporating colored stones–either through colored diamonds or gemstones.

For a ring that’s glamorous and different, but that will still be as stylish on your 50th anniversary as it is today, fancy shapes are a lovely option. This just refers to a diamond shape that isn’t your standard round or princess (my personal favorites are cushion, oval, and emerald). If this is a look you’re considering, pay special attention to the tip I gave in the video–it’s important!

Zales is now holding their Semi-Annual Bridal Sale until November 6–just in time for your beau to pick something up before the start of engagement season! I can’t tell y’all how many brides we’ve heard from whose grooms checked their gal’s Pinterest boards before buying a ring, so if you love these styles as much as I do, don’t be afraid to pin your favorites! ;)
