Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

Hope y’all are staying warm this week! We haven’t had any snow at the Southern Weddings office yet, but we’ve definitely needed to bundle up and crank our heat a little. Even though the South is blessed with mostly-mild weather, we must admit–we love the cozy traditions that come with winter, from big pots of soup to cuddling around a fireplace. Do you have any favorite ways to beat the cold?

Here are a few things warming our hearts this week, as seen on Instagram!

1. Kristin enjoyed the snow she got in Virginia with snow cream, hot chocolate, and of course, super cute boots.
2. Emily checked a goal off of her list by making homemade toffee. She’s been kind enough to share it with her coworkers and I must say, it’s delicious!
3. Nicole found out that V6 has officially been to every state–so exciting! If you haven’t found a copy yet, you can buy them online here.
4. We had a little photo shoot for our upcoming Valentine’s Day newsletter! Sign up here to see the results in your inbox on February 1.

It’s Facebook Friday, and we have the sweetest couple gracing our Facebook page! See more of their engagement session by Graham Terhune here.

Last week on Southern Living’s The Daily South, we posted a preppy chic North Carolina wedding full of meaningful details. Take a look here!

We also shared a gorgeous gallery of our favorite cap sleeve wedding gowns. It’s practically impossible to choose a favorite!

Kristin’s ninth Hint for a Happy Marriage is about working hard to not only show your spouse love, but to do so in a way that resonates most with them. See it here.

We shared a sneak peek of the Valentine’s Day shoot we did with our adorable new postcard set! See it here.

Our love for farms and farm animals is well-documented, so it’s no surprise that we love this rustic editorial! See it here.

Can you imagine getting to your engagement session, only to find that your wedding planner who lives across the country is there waiting for you with your bouquet mock-up? That’s exactly what happened for Sara and Austin, and we’re smitten with their sweet pictures! See it here.

Yay for real weddings!

We wish we could’ve been guests at Jamie and Blake’s colorful backyard wedding! Their big day was a true celebration of their love for both each other and the city of Austin. See it here.

We loved the hospitality Hannah and Jeremy showed their guests at their outdoor winter wedding. See it here.

Emily and John (not to be confused with our own Emily and John!) had a gorgeous fall wedding that was “simultaneously casual and elegant”–a great way to describe the South as a whole, too! See it here.

A few things to note!

The Carolina Inn is hosting their 19th Annual Bridal Fair this Sunday from 1-4 p.m.! This is a wonderful opportunity for Triangle-area brides to meet local vendors, find wedding inspiration, and even enter a raffle or two. Nicole and I will both be there, so say hi if you see us! Find more information and buy your tickets here.

Our friends at Plum Pretty Sugar do Valentine’s Day so well! Check out their Valentine’s gift section (we love the Sweet Love and Yonderflies and Pink Love Poppy prints for February 14 especially), and use the code HEARTFELT for a complimentary cosmetics case with orders over $50.

Enjoy your weekend!
