Google+ Behind the Scenes of Sweet Corn Sweethearts - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

Sweet Corn Sweethearts was one of our last V6 editorial shoots, as well as the first big local one since I started working at Southern Weddings. It also ended up being the beautiful editorial highlighted in our Southern Living insert! (See the back story on that partnership here!) With 19 models, many of whom were readers (plus one SW editor!) and three amazing locations, we were relieved to have relatively mild weather for summer in the South. Our sweet friends and BRV members, photographer Julia Wade and videographers from Twenty-One Films, were on hand to capture all of the behind the scenes moments and details. There were so many wonderful ones and we’re thrilled to share them with y’all!

Oh hello, Mrs. Kristin Winchester–looking gorgeous!

Location #1 was a green and white house with the most amazing garage. It was the perfect all-American setup for our handsome groom and groomsmen, our table of fabulous Southern cakes, and our lovely grandmother and flower girl models!

Our next location was the beautiful Martha’s Chapel, just a few miles from our office. The pastor of the church, Bob Brinson, was also kind enough to model as an officiant for us! One of my favorite moments was at the end of shooting the ceremony scene. Pastor Bob went inside and surprised us by ringing the church bells–such a joyful sound!

Our third and final location was in front of a corn field. Lara and Emily searched high and low for the perfect corn field for this shoot, and we ended up using the same beautiful field that we shot our V6 team pictures in front of. It worked out perfectly! The kind farmers who own the farm were so sweet and funny when we knocked on their door in our team shoot gowns to ask for permission, so by the time we arrived for this shoot, they were used to rather amusing things happening in their front lawn. :)

Is it any surprise that the cows were one of our favorite details of this shoot? This cow is actually a show cow that our lovely interns tracked down! Her name is Kaitlin, but she goes by Katie. Of course. :)

Oh, we are so excited to share this video!! We have watched it in the office so many times, we practically have it memorized. We asked Twenty-One Films to blend a behind the scenes video with a video about our brand, and they absolutely nailed it! Enjoy!
