There is something so special about a rehearsal dinner! The joyful anticipation of the wedding to come and the gathering of the closest family and friends is nothing short of magical. Emily and Cole celebrated their last day as fiancés with a woodland-themed dinner, organized by Cole’s mother. There were plenty of rustic details, a few nods to the bride and groom’s respective hometowns, and a fabulous surprise at the end of the night!

Be sure to check back this afternoon to see Emily and Cole’s beautiful wedding!

From Emily:

Our rehearsal dinner was something I really let my mother-in-law take over. She had a vision and I admire her taste so much that I just knew it would be incredible. She is the most kind, generous woman you will ever meet. She is always thinking about everyone around her. The first time I got to see anything involved in the rehearsal dinner was when I actually walked into the room. I was absolutely blown away! I am so glad I was able to be surprised like that. Since the next night was focused on me, we really wanted Friday night to be about him, and we beyond succeeded. My husband (then groom) is an avid hunter, so we used a woodland theme.

It was so cute because my groom was so incredibly nervous that night. I think he was more nervous on Friday than on the wedding day! He stood up at the end and gave a speech I will never, ever forget. He stood up in front of all our friends and family and told me everything he loves about me and how special I am to him. We have it all on video and I love watching that moment. Of course, he had me in tears.

One HUGE surprise was a fireworks display. After we watched a slideshow that the groom’s sister, Alex, had put together, we were all asked to step outside on the balcony. I was a bit confused, but because it was my wedding weekend, my mind wasn’t really thinking correctly. They had us stand in front of all our guests and turn around. My photographer said, “Okay, now wave to all of your guests and say thank you for coming!” So we did as we were told and all of a sudden, there was a loud noise and a spark in the sky. It was a fireworks show just for us! I’m not talking a few little fireworks; this was a PRODUCTION!! It was incredible! I never imagined we would get to see something so spectacular on our rehearsal dinner night. I LOVE fireworks and so does my now-husband, so this was the highlight of our night!

Overall, my was a rehearsal dinner was better than I could ever have imagined. It captured my husband so well and everyone there knew it.
