Google+ Southern Weddings Monthly Round-Up :: September 2012 - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

If you happened to miss any of the Real Weddings we featured in September, you are both in luck and in for an influx of beautiful and meaningful photos. Ready to pin? Emily, Marissa, our intern Alexia and I are here with the highlights from this past month!

FAVORITE WEDDING DRESS: Gorgeous gowns are never hard to spot on the blog! I just loved the soft lines and silver sash of Maconda’s dress. Emily fell for the lace detailing and lovely train that Rachel walked down the aisle in. For Marissa, though, the pink ruffled gown that Alison rocked for her wedding was too good to be true! Alexia adored Lauren’s ruffled and romantic gown.

FAVORITE BRIDESMAID DRESS: I was loving Lauren’s choice of navy dresses with the adorable button and keyhole sleeves for her ‘maids. Alexia thought the mixed styles in blue and pink at Lindsay’s wedding were too pretty. Emily adored the pink winter dresses with fur boleros at Marielle’s wedding and Marissa fell for the neutral mix of dresses that Alison let her bridesmaids choose.

FAVORITE FEMALE ACCESSORY: Alexia thought Haylee’s fabric flower headband was the perfect addition to her lace reception dress. Our ever-fashionable Marissa just adored the monogrammed fur stole that wrapped Marielle’s shoulders. I fell in love with the vintage lace handkerchief and “something blue” that Geneva carried down the aisle with her and Emily decided that Lindsay’s switch from her white wedding shoes to her monogrammed cowboy boots was just about the best decision we’ve seen!

FAVORITE MENSWEAR: Frank’s black and white wedding attire looked might snappy to Alexia. Also rocking on the suspenders and bow tie was David, whose cotton boutonniere Marissa also loved. I thought the hip chambray shirts that Brent’s groomsmen wore were stylish and fashionable, but it was Fitzlee and his men that stole Emily’s vote with their white dinner jackets.

FAVORITE DETAIL: It was so hard to narrow down the fun details we saw this month! Finally we came to a decision, with Emily choosing Liz + Josh’s vibrant and juicy fruit centerpieces. I thought Meghan + David’s vintage hankies as food bibs was brilliant and Alexia adored Lauren + Justin’s unique monogram guest book. For Marissa (and me, too), Kelly + Will’s puggy Rosie took the cake.

FAVORITE CEREMONY: Lovely ceremonies and cute love stories weren’t hard to come by. I thought Alison + Brent’s stage-like setup and billowing drapes were dreamy. Emily loved the dramatic and picturesque winter ceremony of Marielle + Michael. Alexia thought Lindsay + Jonathan’s prayer circle was oh-so-sweet and Marissa couldn’t help but fall for the beautiful vineyard “I do’s” of Amber + Jon.

FAVORITE BOUQUET: Emily was a big fan of Liz’s slightly wild-shaped pink and green bouquet with it’s burlap wrap. I adored the bright colors and bits of fern in Kelly’s blooms. For Marissa, it was the sweet rose and baby’s breath bouquet at Sara + Justin’s wedding that won her vote. Alexia loved the colors and uncommon additions to Emily’s bouquet.

FAVORITE SWEET: We’ve all got quite a sweet tooth. Marissa, not always the fan of cake, was immediately a fan of Amber + Jon’s pumpkin pie! I wanted to dig right into the buttercream and raspberry cake at Haylee + Frank’s wedding. Emily adored the preppy and striped cake that Lauren + Justin served and for Alexia, it was Rachel + Stephen’s peony-adorned tiers that took her vote.

FAVORITE PHOTO: Marissa loved the cute pre-ceremony portraits that Kelly + Will took and Alexia loved Marielle’s sweet moment with her family. For Emily and me, Maconda + Sacha’s and Rachel + Stephen’s loving embraces were too good to pass.

    I love the unique guestbook monogram idea. Do you know where it was ordered from?
