Google+ Southern Wedding of the Week: Kelli + Jeff, Part I - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

I’m not a fan of white wedding shoes.  There, I said it.  As traditional as I am, there’s just something too-white and too-bridal about white kicks for my taste.  That said, I’m drawn to Kelli’s sleek black pumps like a magnet.  (Check out the rhinestone detailing on the back, the handiwork of one of the bridesmaids, no less!)  They complement her paper white Solutions Bridal gown + White House Black Market b’maids frocks perfectly, wouldn’t you say?  For her wedding at the First United Methodist Church, Kelli wore a custom veil from Martha Shump and carried an all-white bouquet designed by Wilson’s, Ltd.  Photographer Lindsey Tropf of Pure by Lindsey + planner Christina Kopecki of Christina Kreations teamed up for this classic Florida affair.

How did the two of you meet?  Tell us your story. Jeff and I are high school sweethearts and first met in our sophomore Spanish class.  I thought he had the most beautiful eyes, so he sort of got my attention. One of my friends, Lauren, was his neighbor and set us up on a double date.  The rest was history; we’ve been dating every since!
Describe the proposal. I had a feeling the proposal was going to come any day, so I was anticipating it all the time. One night, he asked me to go to a really nice place for dinner. I got all dressed thinking it was going to be the night. I waited all through dinner, and when the check came I was pretty bummed out he hadn’t proposed. Little did I know he had a bottle of wine and flowers waiting for me back at my condo. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so excited I just started screaming and forgot to even answer. He said, “I am taking that as a yes?” Of course I said yes!  After Jeff proposed to me that night, he told me his father had proposed to his mom after eating at the same restaurant.   It definitely has special meaning to us now!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Glamorous, elegant and unforgettable.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: I loved the centerpieces with all the flowers and crystals hanging down the sides. I also absolutely loved my table linens. I chose a very bold pattern called Black Orleans Damask. They were gorgeous!

What a Gorgeous wedding! Love the look of the bridal party; esp the girls in the shorter length black dresses. Talk about looking fabulous AND being able to wear it again!
