Google+Contest: Untamed Petals - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

Hey y’all!  We’re starting the week off right with a fun, fashionable giveaway from Untamed Petals!

The first time I heard about Etsy, it was described as “eBay for crafters”. Well, yes, it is a great website for vendors to share their wares, but it is so. much. more! Etsy has become a community. It gives any creative person, anywhere in the world, the opportunity for others to see their products. For those of us who crave something unique, Etsy is the way to go. Want an original piece? Most sellers are willing to create something tailored to your individual desires — and there’s always Alchemy. From paper to furniture, from clothing to wall art, Etsy has something for everyone.

Amanda Gilbert is the mastermind behind Untamed Petals, an Etsy shop that specializes in beautiful, feminine headbands, sashes, and adornments. Amanda feels that “every girl deserves something one-of-a-kind in their wardrobe. The Untamed Petals philosophy is that the accessory makes the outfit, which is why each headpiece, belt, corsage, and fascinator is created to make a bold statement and complete any look.” One lucky SW reader will win a gorgeous ivory or white Full Bloom sash from Untamed Petals.

To Enter: Take a look around the Untamed Petals Etsy store and tell us your favorite product by posting below. Then (step 2), give us some suggestions: is there an Etsy store that you’ve come across that you are dying to share with the world? Here’s your chance–tell us which one you love!

Win: An ivory or white (your choice) Full Bloom Bridal Sash from Untamed Petals!

This contest will end at midnight on Tuesday, March 9.

For myself I’d LOVE to get the Swarovski Crystal Oval rhinestone and beaded trim Bridal Wedding Sash because it has the same shape as the details on my shoes! I love the flower sashes in the Untamed Petals Store. I’ve been looking for one to get my Maid of Honor to give her an extra pop of something special–New Full Bloom Original Untamed Sash– would be lovely! I also love Carrisa – Yellow chiffon and gold lace flower on a skinny gold headband- because the bridesmaid dresses are in this yellow! My favorite Etsy store is MarloNoel’s! She custom made jewelry for my wedding and took the time to make it exactly as I wanted. She was great to work with. Her shop link is below. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MarloNoel?ga_search_query=marlo+noel&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&includes%5B0%5D=tags&includes%5B1%5D=titleThanks SW!

I’ve been looking for a fascinator that incorporates everything I love, and her New Untamed Fascinator does just that. Silk chiffon, organza, lace, feathers and pearls; perfect for some hair loveliness.Clutch That! Has some pretty incredible clutches and a friend of mine snagged a variety of peacock ones for her bridesmaids to carry.SweetPixiePie is extremely talented in the art of polymer clay. She has adorable woodland cake toppers that can be customized for your wedding. (I love the little gnome doors too!)

I love the Silk Chiffon flowers, here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30754249They are so pretty and romantic! And for my favorite Etsy store, it’s not from a specific creator, instead it’s a mix. All of the products sold from this page help the family of Emily, a little girl who lost her battle with cancer in January. The family has 2 million dollars worth of medical bills, and from now until March 4th the products bought will help them pay the bills! Not only does it help a family who has gone through so much, but the stuff being sold is adorable, from little girl’s headbands to American Girl Doll’s clothes!http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=handmade&search_query=hgc+emily&ref=auto

Let me first say, that I absolutely love love Etsy. I have no idea what I would have done without this website for all my wedding supplies. Untamed Petals has some beautiful designs but I have my eye on the Ivory Chiffon and Organza fascinators. How cute are they?!! There are so many shops that I have found on Etsy that are utterly adorable so it’s too difficult to pick just one. My top two favorite shops are Lulusplendor where I purchased my wedding day earrings which are just dripping with gorgeousness and thebackporchshoppe where I had a custom wedding day sign made in which I will use the back of the sign as a guest book.

  9. avatar Leslie Kerrigan reply

What a wonderful etsy store!! I love all of the wonderful headbands and sashes but my favorite is the one entitled Carrisa. It is a beautiful yellow chiffon and gold lace flower on a skinny headband! I think it could be worn for a pop of color with a wedding dress or any dress!!Another favorite etsy store is Pom Love. I just love the beautiful assortment of colored pom poms and I envision them hanging all around the alter.

I love the Untamed Fascinator, so pretty. But I also love the beaded crystal headband/halo. There are just so many cute things!! Being a wedding photographer I love details at weddings, I always suggest my brides go to Etsy to find cute, unique details for their wedding. Recently a bride shared this store with me and I have been sending all my brides to it. http://www.etsy.com/shop/lilafrancesthe custom wire hangers are so cute!!!

  13. avatar Cori Wallace reply

I am floored by the Swarovski Crystal Oval rhinestone and beaded trim sash! Many bridal gowns can get that couture feel with little details, and those chosen details can become the centerpiece of a look. Belts and accents around the waist are super-duper flattering on the right structure. YAY for the belt! ETSY was our cornerstone for a wedding in Savannah. We did a ton of personal touches, and our monogrammed dinner napkins were something we fell in love with. See here! http://www.etsy.com/shop/EmbroiderybyLinda

I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect statement reception hair piece. I love love love the penelope clips — I’d order them in an ivory color to match my dress! They’d be so perfect with my homemade tissue pomanders that my FMIL is making for part of the decor!I’ve also got to recommend my bff’s (and maid of honor) etsy shop, where she sells handpainted watercolor notecards and invitations. She and I made my "will you be my bridesmaid" cards, which she now makes in all different colors for brides-to-be! Also, she’s done some beautiful shower invites, adorable city maps and her OWN wedding invites (our weddings are within 3 weeks of each other and having so much fun planning at the same time!!). I’m definately looking for that wow factor to add to my wedding-day look. I love the fascinators on the UntamedPetals page, and the Bridal Crystal and Rhinestone Beaded Headband or Halo is great. I love their awesome details.

I love the penelope clips…they could go anywhere! So cute! This etsy seller is wonderful. I have spent hours pouring over Etsy and I STILL find new and exciting sellers….all with great talent.I want to share this store, Bella Bridal Veils. They offer simple veils at very reasonable prices. I knew I wanted a traditional veil for my church ceremony, but I also knew I did not want to pay a lot of money for a veil I was only going to wear for about an hour (I am wearing a fasicinator at the reception). This Etsy site offers every length veil but won’t drain that wedding budget…haha.http://www.etsy.com/shop/BellaBridalVeils

I love those sashes! I’ve been looking for a sash just like them to compliment my wedding dress. What a great giveaway! My favorite Etsy shop (at the moment- I have so many favorites!) is Sugar Letter. We just ordered the cutest address stamp from them! http://www.etsy.com/shop/SugarLetter

I love the Fabulous Bow Fascinator — http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=38581791 — it’s glamorous and classic all rolled into one, with the pearls and rhinestones. I would wear this every day! My favorite Etsy is The Back Porch Shoppe, I love it because all the handcrafted wood signs look antique, like they are from your great grandmother. Everything has a southern feel to it because the creator of these fabulous signs is from Louisiana. Everyone MUST to check out this wonderful shop and prepare to be OBSESSED! — http://www.etsy.com/shop/[email protected]

Absolutely love the Untamed Fascinator! I think it would look so chic with my hair pulled back and this pretty little think at the base of the bun. Just really love the romantic feel of these accessories!

Looking at the non-sashes, my favorite item is the blush chiffon flower necklace. A perfect mix of modern, retro and fresh. Just look at those frills! It can go with anything—especially with spring and summer coming up. It’s light and airy and makes me want to sit outside in the sun.So, I have 2 weak spots: accessories and stationary. My favorite etsy shop is 100% vintage and all paper: bananastrudel. How can this be applied to weddings, you ask? For a vintage wedding, perhaps maps of your wedding or honeymoon location from the 1800s as decorations or gifts. Or images of a lithograph on the background of your save-the-date. Or use some of their flora or fauna images to inspire you. I love etsy! Thanks SW for doing this! I have so many new places to shop now!

I actually really love the yellow and white chiffon flower headband on a mustard velvet ribbon. The colors are great! =) I like how the model wears it too, looks cute for everyday as well as for a wedding!! As far as some other stores on Etsy that I love, and have used for my wedding preparations, they are:Bellamodaartist: This artist is great for the groom and groomsmen! I wanted to throw this in there because we are selected some great cufflinks for the guys as their gifts from her! They are really great and have such character to them! The images are throwbacks to the 80’s and are hilarious, something the guys can use all the time after the wedding. Littlewhitedresser: She has fantastic accessories for the bride and bridesmaids! The fabrics and stones are great! Very vintage chic! Jillians: Whimsical Floral Designs- Her bouquets are great! These things can last forever and be created in any color you want! They are beautiful and won’t die out after the wedding day, great keep sake even if you just get one bouquet!

I love the Jamie Sash. My bridesmaids are going to be wearing either pale pink or pale yellow dresses, and this would go with either. As for Etsy, I’m just beginning to discover all of the wonderful things it has to offer. I’ve got my eye on quite a few items, including a floral sash, birdcage veil and fascinator, and gifts for my bridesmaids; and I enjoy exploring all of the shops in my search of finding the perfect items.
