I believe in finding beauty in simplicity. Justin DeMutiis Photography always aims to capture a couple’s love with an authentic and natural aesthetic. When I am not photographing, I love to be in nature (backpacking with old friends, camping, and seeking adventure). Above all, I believe in the beauty of the covenant of marriage and clients who share the ideal from Southern Weddings Magazine – “I want a marriage even more beautiful than my wedding.”

How I got into weddings: I started in high school with a passion for nature and landscape photography and a desire to preserve the most beautiful scenes and moments in a faithful way. My health teacher was also a wedding photographer, and when she saw my passion for photography she took me under her wing and taught me about portraits and weddings!
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The beautiful estates, plantations, and trees! But I am also a sucker for Southern accents and old-fashioned Southern hospitality!
Favorite part of a wedding day? There are almost too many to choose, but I would have to say my favorite has always been the moments just after the recessional. I often see the most emotion at that time as the wedding party and family members warmly and tearfully congratulate the bride and groom!
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? There is nothing I love more than when my clients say their day turned out better than they could have ever imagined. A well-planned event is not without hard work and a bit of stress, so try not to lose sight of why you’re getting married! Take time to enjoy the process, hire vendors you love and trust, and above all, enjoy each other!
Dream travel destination? Can’t choose one! Iceland, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, and the South of France are my top five!
Favorite Southern city? Charleston
Early bird or night owl? Slowly transitioning from a night owl to an early bird!
Pie bar or red velvet cake? Pie bar!
Pottery Barn or Anthropologie? I love both, but Pottery Barn!
Succulents or peonies? Peonies!
