Google+ Real Texas Wedding: Crystal + Ben, Part II - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

Oh, sweet sugar heaven!  Crystal + Ben’s pretty pink and sugary sweet reception is literally making my mouth water!  Cotton candy… hmm!  What do all y’all chocolate lovers think of that square groom’s cake from Colleen’s Cakes?  Wow!  Lots of kudos to A Stylish Soiree not only for planning and designing this sugar-filled affair but also for making the centerpieces look as delicious as the candy bar.  Be sure to visit Perez Photography’s blog post here to catch all the other yummy details.

Describe your wedding flowers: Gorgeous with lots of pink!  The larger centerpieces at the reception were garden-style arrangement mixed with pink roses, dahlias, snap dragons, dusty miller, orchids and astilbe but the arrangements were slightly asymmetrical to lend a bit of a contemporary flare.
Describe your wedding cake:
Yummy!!  I wanted my cake to be simple but with a modern shape.  I found a picture of a cake that had each tier varying in shape and a simple ribbon wrapped around each tier, and this was my design inspiration for my cake.  Each tier was a different flavor: white chocolate mousse, Amaretto with fresh raspberries, strawberry shortcake and pink champagne with strawberry mousse.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding?
We really didn’t have too many challenges.  Ben and I had a long engagement and I having the extra time to plan really made things run smoothly.
Were there any wedding traditions or new ideas you included in the wedding?
Ben and I had a fairly traditional ceremony.  Right after our ring exchange, we had Ben’s aunt read “These Hands.”  It was so special and such a perfect reading for our ceremony.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?
I would have to say the entirereception was quite memorable.  Ben and I love to have fun and seeing everyone dance, especially with props, was such a blast!
What’s next for you as a couple? Enjoying our free time! We plan on completing some small house projects, travel and continue to focus on our careers.
What are you looking forward to in the future?  I always smile when I think about the future.  We hope to start our own business one day. I think the possibilities are endless for us.

Congratulations, Crystal + Ben!  We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you two!

What a fantastic wedding and classy day, and it’s great to see one from my home state…it makes me proud! I think the silhouettes are officially in style. I love the correlation of the pink theme and cotton candy!
