This couple is bursting with creativity! Scott proposed to Heather with a sock puppet show. Scott + Heather wanted to make their wedding different and wanted each guests to take home a little something special. They spent some quality time together and made a unique and personalized sock puppet for each wedding guest. Kudos to Heather’s mom who created the wedding cake and to the couple who planned this entire celebration. Other details: Heather’s dress is by {Ines Di Santo} and bridesmaids dresses by {Maggie Sottero}. Check out more shots of this wedding on Tanja Lippert Photography’s {Blog}.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Magical, Romantic, Wonderfully Emotional
Describe your wedding cake: My Mom who is an incredible baker made the four tiered cake that alternated layers of Carrot Cake and Italian Wedding Cake. My step-father and I decorated it with piped and fresh ferns. Our wonderful florist added other forest floor details. It was wonderful and only cost us about $250 plus we had so much fun doing it.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Besides hiring {Tanja Lippert} as your photographer, I would say to make sure your personality is everywhere in your day. What will your guests remember that may be different from any other wedding? Scott and I made 130 personalized sock puppets for our guests as favors. (He proposed in the redwoods with a home-made sock puppet show) It took us a month to do it, but we had such a great time together making the project happen. Our guests loved it and are still talking about it.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? We are working on starting our family. The best decision we could have made was hiring the photographer we did. Tanja Lippert was incredible from our engagement session to capturing the most wonderful moments of the day. We are so looking forward to going to her every-year to make a picture scrapbook of our growing family and our lives together. We know it will be as fun and memorable as the first day we met her.
Any DIY items? Ha! Everything! The cake, the sock-puppet favors, the Polaroid guest book, the Dryads in the tress and the programs.
Favorite inspirational blogs or sites: I really didn’t use any blogs but did visit Martha Stewart Weddings a lot.
Congratulations to Heather + Scott. We wish you a life full of fun and happiness!
