Google+ Details: Erin + George, Part I - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

This fresh and breezy wedding makes me want to take a trip to the beach. Erin + George were married at the beautiful {Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa}.  I love the flower bouquet and bridal gown.  Flowers by {Flowers with Love} and gown by {Demetrios}.  The bridesmaid’s were dressed in {Jasmine Bridal} wear.  Photography by {Tanja Lippert Photography}.

What was the design inspiration for your wedding? Platinum style all the way! After years of providing our wedding services to brides and grooms and witnessing hundreds of weddings, we knew exactly what we wanted.Main concepts: a lot of bling, extensive lighting, an overabundance of candles, unique floral arrangements, and the best entertainment.
Favorite design element of your big day: Definitely the reception ballroom! I must admit that I have never seen a more beautifully decorated ballroom in my life! My groom took me into the ballroom just before all of the guests were brought in so that I could see the ballroom in it’s perfect un-touched state. George with the help of his groomsmen, employees and friends was able to transform the ballroom into something so magical. They draped the entire ballroom in white chiffon fabric from ceiling to floor and added over 100 colored uplights behind the drape. The room was glowing in my favorite aqua blue color. The tables were aligned in a king’s table design (instead of the traditional rounds). We had white chavari chairs to match the draping and white seamless dance floor. The floral arrangements were amazing! I love orchids and calla lilies….our florist created a truly remarkable arrangement. My groom created a beautiful customized monogram light with our names which glowed bright on our dance floor and behind our head table. We also had spot lights that followed us around the room. Since George is in the wedding entertainment industry, we of course had to have the best DJ company – our very own Sounds In Motion DJ! We also had a very popular salsa band play the most popular salsa hits! We even had our grand entrance and first dance choreographed! I can go on and on and on…..you have to see the photos to understand how spectacular it was!
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: First of all, I love getting dressed up in formal dresses! When it came to my wedding dress, it had to be different and unique. I have seen hundreds and hundreds of wedding dresses in my career and got tired of seeing the same style on every bride – strapless, a-line, satin. I visited so many bridal shops all over northern California, but none of the consultants understood what I was in search of. I finally found a store in Campbell, California that had a big selection of “my style” dresses and consultants who knew what they were talking about. My consultant brought me a dress and as I looked at it on the hanger, I told her that I don’t think I will like this one, let’s not even try it on. She urged me to just try it, so I did. Oh my gosh…..it was perfect! I came out to show my bridesmaids and they started to cry tears of joy….I knew this was the one. It felt so good! I ended up with a mermaid silhouette dress in all lace and beading – and it was NOT strapless – it wrapped up around my neck. It’s hard to describe, you have to see it in my pictures. I loved it!

More to come from Erin + George.

These are the same bridesmaid dresses I have and I have been looking and looking for matching ties. Were these rented or bought? Any information you have would be great!

Hi Crystal! Erin’s bridesmaids wore gorgeous frocks from Jasmine Bridal. Perfect for a seaside wedding, no? Hope this was helpful! Katharine @ Southern Weddings
