Whether you want photographs walking down the trails or by the horses, there are limitless beautiful settings for your day! Windwood has more than enough space to host both your ceremony and reception, or just one or the other. The Estate has three barns, many meadows and a beautiful courtyard. How I got into weddings: Over the years, people have continuously commented on how beautiful Windwood is and wondered if we ever held weddings or parties there. It was in the fall of 2012 that we finally were able to bring that dream to life with the renovation of our outdoor courtyard and the addition of a new wing to our barn. Since the completion, we have been so excited to share Windwood with brides for their big day, and we look forward to many years to come of wonderful weddings at Windwood.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? My favorite thing about weddings in the South is the strong sense of tradition that is instilled into every wedding. Here in the South, we live and breathe tradition down to the exact measurement of sugar in your family recipe of sweet tea. A Southern wedding has the backbone of family, the flair of a good love of dancing, and fantastic food.
Favorite part of a wedding day? My favorite part of the wedding day is when the couple has said their vows and they walk back down the aisle and everyone cheers!
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? The best piece of advice I could give to brides and grooms is to really savor the moment. Take a minute to breathe and remember why you are getting married and really soak in that day because it will be over before you know it! Look at your friends and family and really enjoy yourself!
