I love a good party. From weddings, to birthdays, to those precious occasions crowded around a dinner table with your nearest and dearest, sharing good wine, good food, and good company – I just absolutely love to bring people together to celebrate.

Since 2003, I have worked and traveled my way across the United States and abroad planning weddings, festivals and corporate events, and this experience is the foundation that has built Jacin Fitzgerald Events into the seasoned celebration planning, styling + floral design boutique that it is today.

Along with my team, I specialize in nature-inspired floral design, simple and classic event styling and absolutely flawless logistics, leaving no stone unturned throughout the process. The majority of my events take place at a private estate or residence and I just love being challenged with a blank slate, while maintaining the essence of sentimentality. Overall, my goal is to make sure that the lovely little details truly reflect each client and tell their story, one detail at a time. And to make sure your party is a good one – a really, really good one that friends, family and loved ones will be talking about for years to come.

Things you’d write home to your Momma about: I’ve worked hard and tirelessly to build my business from the ground-up, while maintaining a healthy work/life balance along the way and not forgetting where I came from or where I started – these things are all very important to me. My clients’ weddings have been featured online and in print in many outlets, from Southern Weddings (of course!) to Martha Stewart Weddings to Town & Country Magazine and while I’m really proud of these accolades, published or not, seeing my clients’ happy faces as we reveal the venue space or hugging them just as they’re about to hop in their getaway car – a real hug, not a tap on the back – is just as much of a thrill for me and what makes my job fulfilling. As someone who has grown up working at my family’s hardware store, I’ve taken my strong work ethic in to everything I do, but most importantly – I really, truly love my job and it makes me happy. I think my mom (and dad) would be happy knowing that fact alone.

How I got into weddings: I have always, always loved weddings, from the very first time I saw Father of the Bride to my first glimpse of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, back when I used to make collages and cut out photos of all the things that inspired me. I’ve also always loved planning things – it’s part of my nature (I was that friend who was always lining up the next ski trip, or dinner party, or beach getaway). I majored in communications and business marketing in at the University of Rhode Island and landed my dream internship senior year, in 2002, working for a wedding and event planning venue in Newport, Rhode Island. From there, I went on to plan regattas across the US for Sailing World Magazine, moved to Australia and planned events for a private school in Sydney, then headed back to the states for a corporate job planning strategic events for a large firm in New Jersey; this job ended up moving me to San Francisco to open a West Coast Division. I was driven and motivated for success, and I continued to climb the corporate ladder, but I kept suppressing this feeling that my creative outlet was missing. I realized how much I missed working on weddings and personalized celebrations, and decided to start a small planning boutique, just for my contentment as a happy little side project. Jacin Fitzgerald Events was born, I soon left my corporate job, and I have not even considered turning back since.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? Good old-fashioned manners and appreciation of the traditions and hospitality passed down from generation to generation. It’s amazing. I also love love love the tradition of burying the bourbon and make sure all of my clients participate (if they’re down for it!) It’s so fun!
Favorite part of a wedding day? Handing off the bouquet to the bride after putting my heart and soul into its design, and showing the couple the venue before the rest of the guests arrive, seeing their reaction and experiencing their contagious excitement – it’s a feeling I can’t put in to words even if I tried. These moments bring me pure joy.
Dream travel destination? Greece, or a wine & cheese road trip through Italy & France. I have a constant case of wanderlust so I’m always dreaming up our next adventure with my husband and I’m happiest by the ocean so even if it’s a weekend getaway to reunite with salt water, I’m good with that!
Early bird or night owl? Both! I love my job!!
Pie bar or red velvet cake? I’m a salt girl (maldon, please), so I’ll take the french fries if that’s an option?
Pottery Barn or Anthropologie? I like to mix and match from all over the place – I’ll take a pretty dress from Anthro but the timeless decor from pottery barn. My favorite kind of furniture, though, would be the items that have been handed down through generations on either side of our families.
