How I got into weddings: With years of experience in the wedding industry, business partners Brooke Everhart and Priscilla Erwin teamed up to restore and revitalize the Leslie-Alford-Mims House. Brooke owns Belle’s Catering while Priscilla owns Orangerie Events. They are so excited to preserve the historic property and offer couples, as well as the community, an opportunity to experience the charm and grandeur of the mansion.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? Grooms who incorporate their fathers as their Best Men. Couples who serve sweet tea from mason jara and enjoy our rocking chairs on one of our side porches. Watching couples dance the night away on our Event Lawn under a canopy of market lights and among the fireflies.
Favorite part of a wedding day? We love the anticipation right before the wedding ceremony is set to begin–helping a nervous bride make sure her train is just right and her bouquet is positioned perfectly before she walks down our brick aisle.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Stay focused on what the day is about. Something is bound to go wrong or not according to plan. Stay calm and hooked into one another and the meaning behind the vows you are making. You’ll be more relaxed and enjoy the day to the fullest.
