Jodi and Kurt are a husband-wife photography team specializing in weddings with a fine-art approach. Their passion as photographers is to create images that are filled with light, beauty, and romance. They believe in simple and thoughtful imagery that combine the intimate moments of a wedding with timeless portraiture. Both find inspiration from the softness of natural light and the love between their couples. One of their greatest accomplishments is being able to work side by side each day, capturing the beauty of each wedding they photograph.
Name(s): Jodi and Kurt Baier
Where you call home: Virginia
Location/coverage: We primarily shoot weddings on the East coast, though we always welcome the opportunity to travel anywhere for a wedding.
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: We are beyond grateful and honored to have our work featured in so many amazing publications within the wedding industry. Our work has been recently published in Southern Weddings, Southern Living Weddings, Belle Lumiere, Weddings Unveiled, The Knot, Magnolia Rouge, and Bride’s Magazine; as well as featured on Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, and Green Wedding Shoes, among others.
How I got into weddings: We both have backgrounds in the arts: Kurt worked as a chef, while I studied music. I started the business myself and Kurt joined a year later. Everything really evolved organically. We are going on our sixth year of business and absolutely love our job and the couples we are able to interact with!
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The general sense of hospitality and generosity that permeates throughout the entire atmosphere of a Southern wedding.
Favorite part of a wedding day? For both of us, it’s most definitely our portrait time with our couples. We love being able to witness and capture the emotion and interaction that naturally unfolds. It’s wonderful to see all the cares and worries melt away and see two people who get lost for a couple of moments.
