Happily Ever After

After years of working in events separately, Lynn and Jessica teamed up to form their mother/daughter planning team, Happily Ever After, and we’re sure glad they did! They’re passionate about serving clients well and creating events that are a true reflection of your story.

We are a mother/daughter planning team located in the heart of Raleigh, North Carolina. Our passion is providing personable service to each of our clients as we work alongside them, from our very first consultation, all the way through to their grand exit. Our hearts are filled with joy when we have created an event that has captured the very essence of our couple’s love story.

Names: Lynn Scott and Jessica King
Where you call home: Raleigh, North Carolina
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: First and foremost, we’d tell her how thankful we are to use the gifts God has granted us to help other people; it’s truly a blessing! We are very honored that our clients not only take the time to give us stellar reviews, but they also seek to maintain friendships with us long after their wedding day has come and gone. Being selected as a Blue Ribbon Vendor was a goal we had had in mind for a while, and we are over the moon that we are now featured in our favorite wedding publication. Also, the respect we’ve gained by forming genuine relationships with other wedding professionals has been a true honor. The fact they believe in us enough to recommend us to their clients is the greatest feeling. Lastly, when we step back and look at our humble beginnings six years ago, we are truly blessed to see how far we’ve come, and we are eagerly anticipating what lies ahead.

How I got into weddings: Although the journey was long, we’ll try to keep this short and sweet. After retiring from corporate event planning, Lynn felt the itch to get back into planning after organizing and planning her daughter Jessica’s wedding. In order to gain entrance into the wedding world, Lynn began working for a caterer, and later an established wedding venue. Months later, after helping to orchestrate two successful weddings, Happily Ever After was formed. Simultaneously, Jessica got her entry into the industry while working for a local caterer and interning for another wedding planner. Eventually, the two worlds collided, and Happily Ever After became a partnership between mother and daughter. Six years and over 150 weddings later, we couldn’t be more excited about what our future holds.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? There’s just something about the genuine sweetness and hospitality extended to us at a Southern wedding that makes us feel like family. To us, the personal touches and charm that Southern weddings exude add a certain sophistication that you won’t find anywhere else. At the end of night, there’s no better feeling than the bride’s mama hugging your neck with sincere appreciation and gratitude.
Favorite part of a wedding day? Being a wedding planner means you get to take part in the most intimate aspect of a couple’s journey together. For us, there is nothing sweeter than hearing the heartfelt vows filled with honesty and love, said before some of their closest friends and family. It is such an honor to be a part of something so personal.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? As much as family involvement is integral to every aspect of your wedding day, we hope our clients will be true to themselves and make their day their own. Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and come up with your own traditions and personal touches.
