How I got into weddings: In 2002, a couple had seen my fashion photography work through Middle Tennessee State University and local publications, and loved my eye and heart for photography. After photographing their wedding, I realized I was MADE for weddings and all that it entailed! My husband, Bobby, joined me in 2010, initially to follow me around and help me with the equipment (I was pregnant with our first baby at the time). I put a camera in his hands and trained him, and we’ve been an inseparable photography/cinematography team ever since!
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? Oh, weddings in the South. The sweet Southern sunsets. The creative DIYs. The fields. The sounds of nature in the background. Hearing all of the different, beautiful words pastors share at each ceremony. The emotions. The food!
Favorite part of a wedding day? My favorite part of the wedding day is when the bride and groom are pronounced husband and wife. I get to witness this major transformation in their lives–they just went from being fiancés to HUSBAND AND WIFE!
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Laugh! Enjoy every second. At some point, you may begin looking at your wedding planning tasks as stressful–at the end of it, though, you are planning your WEDDING! You are GETTING MARRIED! Make every decision knowing you are the luckiest girl in the world to be marrying your sweetheart.
Dream travel destination? Paris, France
Favorite Southern city? Do I have to pick just one?? Asheville, Savannah, Nashville, and Charleston.
Early bird or night owl? Early bird! Like 5 A.M. early.
Favorite pie flavor? Pecan! I’m not even sure what the filling is made out of but it’s so tasty!
Favorite biscuit topping? Gosh, that would hands down be tomato gravy.
