Chalk Shop Events creates unique, classic signage with a creative twist. In collaboration with our planners, designers, and clients, we create stylish decor and design elements for a limited number of weddings, celebrations, and corporate events each year. We specialize in handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces that incorporate traditional and classic typography to add visual impact and personal style to any setting. Each design we create is hand-drawn in our studio to illustrate our client’s story.

Full Name: Kimberly McFadden
Where you call home: Sunny Winter Park, Florida
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: I’m most proud of the handwritten thank you notes I receive from mothers of the bride or brides who loved the thoughtful attention to detail that we provided for a family’s special day. Hand-penned notes are so sweet to me–I love seeing the person’s own handwriting, rather than an email that is lost in the scroll of our computer lives. I put each one into an album and look back on them every so often.
Location/Coverage: Central Florida and small-scale shipping nationally
How I got into weddings: I have been waiting my whole life to be involved in weddings; it was only a matter of time before the right opportunity presented itself.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The sense of family tradition and the fact that this day is special and different. I love the uniqueness of each story, and all of the hopes and dreams of not only the bride and groom, but of the past and future generations, too.
Favorite part of a wedding day? I have so many favorite parts…but for me, the reveal to the couple of the reception is always so magical. Seeing all the love and attention to the details of your setting before all your family and friends join you is such a special moment. I am a lover of beautiful florals, and a room full of flowers is so specific to a wedding.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Approach this day with grace and reflection–you have planned and dreamed, and now you must enjoy your new start and enjoy the day the Lord hath provided. All of these people have come to wish you well and support you. The love of your community makes for a well-lived life.
Dream travel destination? Lake Como, Italy
Favorite Southern city? Palm Beach, Florida
Early bird or night owl? Early bird–I love to greet the day on my patio with a coffee.
Favorite pie flavor? Cherry pie with farm fresh cherries from my home state of Michigan… and it must be á la mode with vanilla bean ice cream.
Favorite biscuit topping? Cinnamon butter. I’m crazy for cinnamon!
