Our design process is rooted in a passion to balance intentionality and natural beauty with a dash of playfulness. We service up to ten full-service planning, design, and floral clients per year, and love every moment.

Full Name: Laura Helm
Where you call home: Lakeland, Florida
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: We are busting our buttons to be featured in the “Main Squeeze” editorial of Southern Weddings’ V9 issue! We also have been featured on 100 Layer Cake, Green Wedding Shoes, Huffington Post, Every Last Detail, and in The Knot magazine. Our favorite accolade? Our testimonials from past clients mean the world to us. They make us blush, but also serve as a great reminder of why we love our job.
Location/Coverage: Florida and beyond
How I got into weddings: From Laura (our owner): Truthfully, I was never the girl who dreamed about her big day and I didn’t start Ashton Events after planning my own wedding – I created it because I love celebrations. I believe in the blessing and significance of two souls getting to meet and unite; I believe in the value of marriage. I believe that the anticipation of a wedding does not come from pomp and circumstance, but rather the joy of two lives committing to each other.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? We love how family-focused they are! It never ceases to amaze us how deep the roots are in our Southern brides. We love creating details that display your family’s history!
Favorite part of a wedding day? The first dance gets us every time – that quiet moment on the dance floor between a bride and groom always seems to be a moment when they soak in the whole day.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Focus on your marriage and why you want to get married, and the rest of the pieces will fall into place. If you get overwhelmed, remember that this is just one day that jump starts the engine of your marriage!
Dream travel destination? New Zealand would be our pick! :)
Favorite Southern city? Savannah steals our hearts every time.
Early bird or night owl? We’re a mix of night owls and early birds.
Favorite pie flavor? Blackberry
Favorite biscuit topping? Over easy eggs with strawberry jam (you should try it)
