We wanted to take a moment from our oven-preheating, Macy’s-parade-watching, family-hugging mornings to let y’all know one more time how thankful we are for all of you, and how grateful we are that you let us be a small part of your journeys to the altar. We also thought you might like to know what we’re each up to today, and to tell you a few other things we’re thankful for…

Sierra: Today I’m at home, about an hour down the road from the office. My grandparents are visiting from Georgia, and I get to spend time with my wonderful parents and younger brother, as well. First, I’ll be attending my boyfriend’s family Thanksgiving meal just a few streets over, then Mom is cooking a delicious Thanksgiving meal for my family. What can beat eating twice? Over the break, I’m really just relaxing and enjoying the extra company. I’m thankful for family, friends, my job (in particular, the fabulous Southern Wedding gals) and everything else I’ve been blessed with in my life. I don’t know about you, but I’m dying for some turkey and dressing! P.S. My birthday is on Saturday!!

Nicole: This year, my family and I will be traveling up to Williamsburg to spend Thanksgiving with my aunt and her family. This will be my first year celebrating Turkey Day as a vegetarian! It will also be the day of my first 5K, which I’ll (attempt to) run with my sister and her boyfriend. The 5K takes us through Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William and Mary, so it’s sure to be scenic. I’m thankful for the ability to recover with pecan pie, my amazing family and friends who always put a smile on my face, the wonderful and inspiring ladies I work with (Lara, Emily, Marissa, Whitney, Sierra and Emily Ley, y’all are brilliant!), Southern heaven, and the wonderful opportunities that stumble my way. I had no idea how lucky I’d be and I’m grateful for each step of my journey so far!

Marissa: I’ll be spending this Thanksgiving with my handsome husband and my family in Florida. I’m so excited for all my mom’s delicious homemade cooking, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and A Christmas Story all day long in my pajamas! I am thankful for God’s amazing plan, for my incredible husband, my loving mom and sister, for really great in-laws, for a life that is never boring, for Emily Ley + her Bman’s chubby smile, for Lara + sweet baby Grace’s safe arrival, for not only working with, but being able to call Emily, Sierra, Whitney + Nicole my friends, and for HeyTell with Gina, Natalie + Melissa. Oh my gosh, y’all! I could go on and on. I am thankful for SO much this year. I wish each of you, dear readers, happiness, health and love this Thanksgiving!

Whitney: Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Who doesn’t like a day devoted entirely to food and family? I am thankful to have my crazy family right down the road in Raleigh, and I am happy that I get to spend Thanksgiving day surrounded by the people I love. I’m thankful for the talented women here at Southern Weddings. Lara, Emily, Sierra, Nicole and Marissa blow me away every day with their brilliance, their diligence and their passion, and I thank my lucky stars that they are in my life. Finally, I am thankful for my boyfriend, Scott, because he always knows how to make me smile. Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! Enjoy that turkey and pie!

Emily: John only has today off from work, so my Mom, Dad, and younger sister traveled to North Carolina to accommodate us. I am most looking forward to eating stuffing, and apple pie with cheddar cheese! I am thankful for so, so many things, including but not limited to: my family, this season of wedding planning I’m in, the incredible freedoms and opportunity we enjoy in this country, Kraft macaroni and cheese, the fact that I’m living my dream, and my cats, who are the cutest cats in the world (two of them, anyway). I am so very blessed.

Lara: Since Lara just had a baby on Tuesday (yay!!!), we’re betting she is feeling particularly thankful for her new baby girl and her whole family right now. I have no doubt she would also say how thankful she is for each of you, so I will say it in her stead :)

Thank you again, dear readers! If you are so moved, tell us what you’re thankful for in the comments!

I have been vegetarian for 25 years – I’d love to hear more from Nicole about her experience!

I am thankful for so many things this year. My sister and her husband survived the massive tornado that swept through Tuscaloosa on April 27 even though they lost their home and many things. I got engaged to my wonderful fiance! I’ve had the PLEASURE and JOY of planning our wedding in April. I found my first big girl job and I’m living in a big ol’ city with my fiance and taking care of myself and paying my own bills! I graduated from college with TWO degrees. AND I have the most wonderful family and friends a girl could ever want. God is so Good!

I am thankful for my family and getting to spend this day with them. I am thankful for everyone back in Virginia taking care of my fiance this holiday while we have to be apart. And like Emily, I am thankful for this season of wedding planning and that next Thanksgiving I’ll be celebrating as a wife!
