Last week, we pulled off a big first for us Southern Weddings ladies! We actually got one past the incredible Ms. Emily Ayer, and SURPRISED her with a mini-inspired bridal shower! That’s right, with the help of some really fabulous friends, we tricked our own little bride-to-be into thinking we were headed to high tea at The Carolina Inn. Then the doozy came – we were actually throwing HER a shower!

When we arrived, Lara presented Emily with the unbelievably adorable mini-invitation to her shower (awesome job, Amber!). As you can see below, she was a bit surprised!

Our friend Heidi, the Director of Catering at The Carolina Inn, joined forces with the fab Erin McLean to dream up this sweetly Southern and completely “Emily” shower! We told them our girl likes pink, cupcakes and mini things and then we sent them a link to Em’s blog. Heidi and Erin ran with it, and created awesomeness! Boy, have we got talented friends!

I also have to brag a bit on Nicole – not only did Nicole help plan this gorgeous event, but she sat next to Emily everyday for about two months without spilling the beans!

Isn’t this girl cute? Yes, we are lucky enough to work with her every day!

Big thanks to all our friends who came far and wide to celebrate our sweet bride-to-be! And big SW hugs to Cyn Kain for capturing all the divine details of the day!

Congratulations to you, Miss Em! We are beyond thrilled for you, know you will be a stunning bride. We wish you all the love in the world!

Today is a big day for us, y’all. We’ve got our pearls on, our hair blown out and our fluffy dresses donned. We’ve powered through our to-do lists, answered emails and waited for 2:00 to roll around. Why are we so antsy? We’ve been invited to tea at the Carolina Inn!

At least that’s what Emily thinks.

We may have told a white lie a couple of weeks ago when I casually said to the team, “Hey, y’all. Heidi at the Carolina Inn invited us to an afternoon tea in August.” What I really meant was that we’ve been planning a bridal shower for Miss Emily Ayer for over a month and we had to find some casual way to get to her the Carolina Inn!

We’ve enlisted the help of Heidi, the Inn’s director of Catering, Erin McLean, a fab events planner in our area, Amber Housley, a sweet-as-pie designer, and Cyn Kain, one of our good friends and photographers to make Emily’s Mini Cupcakes and Tea Party a reality. (Y’all should have seen the menus and inspiration boards we’ve been emailing each other – I about died with excitement!)

Amber did an amazing job creating Emily’s mini tea party invitations and we can’t wait to show her the rest. In fact, we’re heading to the Inn right now to surprise her! Stay tuned for more fun details and a recap of Emily’s bridal shower!
