It has been a crazy, wonderful week, y’all. We were all so excited to spend more time with Emily Ley and Gina Zeidler who were in town for the Making Things Happen conference. It’s been an amazing time getting to know a hundred new people and catching up with old friends. In the meantime, features on the blog had us all longing for summer and delicious food — not to mention in search of tissues over our sweet real weddings!

All of us wished we could take a trip to New Orleans to try this week’s Southern Delicacy! The muffaletta is now high on our list of foods we must try.

February was a big month of birthdays and love for all of the SW gals! See what we were up to in and out of the office.

We enjoyed our love letters series so much, we couldn’t bear to leave it behind with February. This week, Kristin shares her love letter to her summer sandals.

Real Weddings are the best

Lauren + Joe’s fall wedding in Virginia was not only full of my favorite colors, but was a memory created in a place they’ll visit for years to come. See it here.

Angelica + Colby’s wedding was floral heaven. Their romantic details were the perfect way to showcase their excitement about marriage. See it here.

Chrissy + Tate’s wedding was as unique as their fun personalities. We are so smitten with the way they created details inspired by their lives together. See it here and here.

Don’t forget to stop by today’s Facebook Friday! Andi Mans is sharing a lovely engagement session with us.

Enjoy the weekend, y’all! The weather is warming up quite nicely around here. What will you be up to?

I love the idea of baby’s breath for the bridesmaids. I also love #1 that shirt is too cute. :)

Hello everyone and happy Friday! March has officially arrived, and with it the promise of warmer days ahead (it was particularly lovely this Wednesday!). Before I dive into the events of the past week, allow me to introduce myself! My name is Emily L., the fifth Emily who has had the opportunity to work in this office! This spring I have been fortunate enough to be an intern at Southern Weddings. Being a Blue Devil, I have finally supplied Emily with an ally.

On Monday, Emily taught us of the (delightfully) strong scent of the gardenia, and their representation of grace and hospitality.

Jen, our Southern Bride of the Month, is planning a black tie and fun-filled event at the St. Regis in Atlanta.

Yesterday was Emily’s birthday! In honor of her big heart, we asked y’all to complete a random act of kindness.

Nicole finished up our month of love letters by writing to her future bow tie-wearing puppy. Read it here.

We love real weddings!

Savannah + Henry’s magnolia-filled Charleston wedding made our hearts melt, as did the story of their long-distance relationship. See it here.

Our very own Kristin + Kyle had a magnificent wedding right here in Chapel Hill! We are lucky that their love for each other was so beautifully captured. See it here.

Kristin + Travis had a Southern-inspired wedding in Vermont. We especially loved learning about “The Moover.” See it here.

Before you head out, be sure to check out the adorable engagement session from Teale Photography on today’s Facebook Friday!

Have a great weekend!

My favorite thing in the SW shop is the Oh My Stars I Love You Print! How sweet and girly and pretty is that? I can see it hanging in my bedroom now.

Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

How about one last hurrah for Valentine’s Day week? This week has been full of pink and red outfits, surprise Valentine’s Day goodies and, as is our norm, wonderful love stories.

We know how confusing invitation wording can get. Our Southern Expertise column should be able to help! This week, Emily ran down the multiple host lines that can appear on your pretty paper goods.

We were more than happy to welcome a little Southern DIY to the blog when we saw these adorable bow tie mason jars from Gray Harper! Find out how to make them here.

Did y’all celebrate Fat Tuesday? Mardi Gras is one of Marissa’s favorite holidays and she gave us a little education on all the fun traditions.

We are proud to champion things that matter and the beliefs that make up our Sweet Tea Society. We love that y’all have caught the love bug, too!

We think it’s our focus on love that’s caused our site traffic to triple since this time last year, which is why we’re equally excited to introduce our new media kit! Vendors, be sure to email Marissa to take a look.

In honor of this month of love, we’re sharing love letters on the blog. This week, Marissa writes to the South and tells it how much she misses it.

We adore our Real Weddings!

Ana + Kent’s “I do’s” combined the best of the South with a modern aesthetic. We just love the sweet memories they have of the day. See it here.

Lynae + Brenton’s wedding blew us away with bright and glittery details. They made sure that every aspect of their big day was a statement of their unique love story. See it here and here.

Fun news!
Tre Bella and the Washington Duke Inn and Gold Club are hosting the fourth annual Altar Ego fashion show on March 1! Check out Tre Bella’s site for more fun details.

Happy Valentine’s weekend, my dears!
