One of our most deeply-held beliefs at Southern Weddings is that the wedding is just the beginning, not the end. The wedding is where the good stuff starts! So of course, we are totally on board with celebrating anniversaries in style. When one of our former Southern Brides of the Month and Southern Bride Bloggers, Madi, sent over this sweet celebration on the occasion of her first wedding anniversary, we knew we had to share it! Whether your celebration is a full-on candy-colored party or a simple dinner and dessert for two, we hope you make plans to mark these special milestones in style. And if you’re going the gift route, be sure to take a peek at our anniversary tradition posts (here and here)!

Hugs to Cassandra Castaneda for these sweet photos!

Even more in love than a year ago on the day they wed, Bret and Madi were able to share their affection in a sweet intimate dinner setting in the heart of downtown Kansas City. With a focus on their forever together and all they have learned in their first year of marriage, vendors were able to create a setting that brought them back to the sweet tender moments when they first fell in love. Celebratory champagne, sweet treats, and a look back on the vows that bound them together were arranged to commemorate a wonderful year shared together.

Like many of y’all, I’ve been doing a lot of dreaming and planning about what I might want my 2014 to look like. And you know what? I wouldn’t be too sad if it looked a lot like this! Dreamy pastels, piles of soft texture and pattern, and warm, welcoming spaces are perfect for inspiring everyday life AND beautiful weddings. Big hugs to Michelle Boyd, who took these lovely images, and to the ladies of Glow Workshop (Shalyn and Amanda) for bringing this picturesque scene together!

These two cuties are currently dating, but apparently after they posed for the workshop all the attendees are rooting for a proposal! :)

Glow was held at The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell, a beautiful Texas venue full of all the shabby chic details its designer is known for. I love that they stuck with that look for the workshop!

Don’t forget to take a peek at this scene in action!

Michelle Boyd is a delightful member of our Blue Ribbon Vendor Directory!

Beautiful images, Michelle! And Emily! After the workshop (this past week to be exact) these cuties DID get engaged! How fun is that? Rian, bride model, is a sweet friend from college and Amanda, Glow Workshop co-founder, is one of my bests!
So fun to see familiar faces on the blog today.
