By now, hopefully most of you have your copy of our new issue, Southern Weddings V8, in your hot little hands! If not, make a trip out to your nearest Walmart, Target, Barnes & Noble, Walgreens, Harris Teeter, or miscellaneous grocery store/pharmacy and get yourself one! (And if you can’t find it on shelves, you can always order from our shop!) We’re so excited to be sharing a bit from each of our editorials over the next few weeks – there’s always more that we couldn’t fit in our pages, and we love that sharing these beauties online makes them easy to pin :)

At the heart of each of our editorials is a couple we dreamed up. We designed the details of each shoot around their story, in the hopes that y’all would be inspired to do the same for yours! In Fore the Love, we imagined a couple who met as kids while on vacation with their families. They grew up to love golfing, and invited their guests to celebrate with them over a long weekend of group tee-off times and peach ice cream sandwiches. We tucked lots of fun Southern golf culture references throughout, too!

Big hugs to Katie Stoops, who took these photographs, and Blue Ribbon Vendor Jacin Fitzgerald Events, who planned everything to perfection!

For such a colorful and clever shoot, my first thought for a paper partner was Cheree Berry. She knocked it out of the park – check out all of the “Easter egg” details below!

Nothing could be more appropriate for this editorial than for the gents to start off the wedding morning with a group round of golf. And did you notice our groom’s green jacket? (How could you not?) It was, of course, inspired by the famous one at Augusta!

The ladies had their own colorful accessories, including floral clutches from FabByCab and vibrant nails!

How’s that for a bouquet?? Jacin used pink peonies, coral charm peonies, gardenias, yellow ranunculus, and magnolias, many from Brannan Street Wholesale, for this beauty.

Our lovely ‘maids were equally as colorful as the blooms. We love the idea of choosing a patterned dress for your maid of honor and having your other gals in a coordinating solid!

Real-life married couple Tim and Sarah shone as our bride and groom!

With so many famous golf course signature drinks, we knew we needed to come up with something fun for the drink station at cocktail hour! This golf cart bar was a bit of a handful to rig up, but we were all pleased with how it turned out.

Southern Fried Paper made the most adorable signage and seating chart to complement our scheme. And though an actual course might object to guests practicing their putting during cocktail hour, there’s nothing to stop you from setting up a little green wherever your guests are mingling!

On a golf course, the clubhouse is often affectionately called the 19th hole. We ran with this idea and made it the staging area for dinner. Guests grabbed chic paper bags filled with gourmet BLTs and egg salad – two staples at the Masters, where they are sold for impressively low prices! Cru Catering did a spectacular job jazzing up these sandwiches.

A trellis and floral wedding cake by Ashley Bakery and peach ice cream sandwiches were a sweet ending to the evening – followed by a golf cart getaway!

I love working with new sponsors for many reasons. Sometimes it helps me discover a company I wasn’t familiar with (this one pops to mind – love them so much!), and sometimes it’s because it’s a company I already know and love, and get to introduce to y’all! That’s the happy case today, as I am a fan (and customer!) of today’s sponsor, Cuyana.

While searching for a new leather tote bag a few years ago, I stumbled upon Cuyana, and I don’t think there’s ever been a company that has so immediately and completely resonated with me. I know that many of y’all will feel the same way. I have to share this excerpt from their website, even if it’s kind of lengthy:

We believe in both beauty and intentional buying. We love the joy of finding treasures and the pride of spending wisely. Cuyana means “to love” in Quechua, a language of the Andean regions of South America, and every piece we design is imbued with our love for quality, timelessness, and beauty. We want to love every item in our closets. We want to revel in the tactile beauty of the world’s finest materials and marvel at consummate craftsmanship. We believe in style, not fashion; in quality, not quantity. We celebrate fewer, better things and strive to live a life of inspired simplicity.

WOW! Isn’t that amazing? I just love it so, so much, and feel like it applies to so much more than just clothes or accessories. Even to wedding planning!

Cuyana offers a curated line of attainable, luxurious essentials — things like the perfect silk tee, the quintessential weekender, and the can’t-live-without-it scarf. Many items, like their travel case sets, make fantastic bridesmaid gifts, and monogramming is available on most leather and canvas pieces for an additional $10-$15, depending on the item.

Some of their larger pieces, like their weekender bags, overnight bags, or totes, would be the perfect start to your collection of married monogram pieces. I love the idea of starting your married life together with beautiful, simple, quality pieces that are designed to last a lifetime.

For those of you who’ve been married for a few years already, consider Cuyana for your third anniversary gift destination! I’m coming up on mine, and they have so many lovely leather pieces from which to choose!

Ready to explore more and shop better? You can browse the entire Cuyana collection at their site here. I hope you love this special company as much as I do!

This post is brought to you by Cuyana. Thank you for your support of the brands that make Southern Weddings possible!

With holiday shopping season in full swing, we thought there was no better time to share this year’s Surcees feature! In case you’re not familiar, “surcee” is a Southern term for a little gift given unexpectedly, and we have so much fun rounding up products from across the South and beyond to include in each issue. Our V7 surcees, photographed by Brett & Jessica, are made up of our favorite things for people in four different categories: newlyweds, brides and grooms, ladies (such as bridesmaids, moms, and hostesses), and foodies. We hope they help you check the last few people off of your list for the holidays, as well as get your wheels turning for gifting ideas throughout your engagement. Be sure to enter the giveaway below for a chance to win one of these goodies for yourself, too!

First up, a few sunny finds for newlyweds! We love these as housewarming gifts, wedding presents, or a special little something you treat yourself to post-honeymoon.

Clockwise from top left: Mr. & Mrs. Mug Set ($38, Lindsay Letters), custom canning labels ($25 for 20, Felix Doolittle), custom family crest ($175, Juliet Grace Design), camellia napkin ring ($19, Oxford Exchange), 9 oz. “tomato” soy candle ($24, Produce Candles), embroidered pineapple cocktail napkins ($42 for set of 4, Lettermade), North Carolina state plate ($78, Corbe Company), hostess square soap set ($39, Mark and Graham), “how to pray for your husband” bookmark ($3, Gather and Dwell)

From bouquet ribbons to bow ties, we loved rounding up these special details for your big day!

A whole wagon full of gifts wouldn’t be quite enough to thank the special ladies who help us to the aisle, from our mamas to our house parties. Along with a gracious handwritten note, we think these sweet surcees are a pretty good start, though!

Clockwise from top left: 14 oz. “gardenia” soy candle ($30, Sydney Hale Co.), Sweet Tea Sugah scrub ($20, The Charleston Soap Chef), lavender and lemongrass bar soap ($7, Seychelles Soap Co.), rose daily body serum ($39, One Love Organics), monogrammed pashmina scarf ($28, Dixieland Monogram), cotton pearl initial bracelet ($98, John Wind Maximal Art), navy gingham clutch ($129, Ila Handbags), Greek charms in antique gold ($67 each, Diana Warner Studio), Southern sayin’ pencil set ($15 for set of 6, Stephanie Creekmur), 15-piece New Orleans chocolate collection ($31, Sucre), Sweet Tea print ($20, Southern Weddings Shop)

A delectable food or heirloom-worthy kitchen accessory makes a welcome gift for any occasion. We love these ideas as gifts for hostesses, neighbors, or anyone who could use a little something special!

Clockwise from top left: spiced watermelon pickles ($9.99, Pickled Pink Foods), cast iron drop biscuit pan ($45, Food52), fried chicken rub ($14, Blackberry Farm), sweet tea concentrate ($7-12, Moonshine Sweet Tea), Wellfleet oyster, littleneck clam, and crab knives with leather wrap ($150, Food52), red velvet cake mix ($5.99, Old School)
