More lovely shots from a downright love-ly wedding, courtesy of Erik Clausen. While we’re total suckers for outdoor Southern soirees, it’s refreshing to see an indoor reception (Marie-Gabrielle Gardens and Restaurant) done oh-so right. And my gosh, do I love Linda + Jojo’s yellow and white cake from Meringue Bakery! Hugs to Poser for giving us a very happy Thursday, indeed.

Describe your wedding flowers: I wanted spring in the fall with a little bit of a modern edge. We were so lucky to find a florist that knew and loved our vision. She used lots of green and teal-gray succulents, bright yellow billy balls, white cabbage roses, and orchids for the bouquets. We had 4 different arrangements throughout the venue. Boxes filled with succulents and billy balls, giant phalaenopsis orchids floating in square vases and billowing out of vases.
Describe your wedding cake: Our wedding cake was simple and eye catching. Vanilla and strawberry cake with whipped cream cheese filling and bright yellow butter crème frosting. It was the perfect focal point for the venue.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Our biggest challenge was two different Asian cultures and traditions coming together and trying to find a compromise. I’m Vietnamese and Jojo is Filipino. It was hard to get both families to agree on how the ceremony and reception would be conducted. But we stuck through it and everything turned out beautifully. It was amazing seeing everyone happy and happy for us. We couldn’t have prayed for a better day.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? While we were both getting ready, Erik, our photographer was in the grooms’ suite taking pictures of the boys getting ready. Jojo asked Erik what he needed him to do. Erik told him to put on his pants. He looked in his suit bag and realized that he had forgotten them at home. I found out through his facebook status.
Did you write your own vows? If so, what was your favorite phrase, verse or line? I vowed to always TRY to fill the toilet paper roll. Jojo said I love you in three different languages.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? We’re hoping to start a family! Our parents are already asking us when they’re going to get grandkids.

Ah, Erik Clausen – you must have known I would swoon over your black and whites from Linda + Jojo’s Texas wedding at the Gabrielle Gardens and Restaurant. Because I sure did swoon. Big time. Also swoon-worthy? Linda’s feminine Priscilla of Boston dress, which looks tailor-made for the bride. The b’maids looked chic and sophisticated in gray sheaths (also Priscilla of Boston). Emily would die if I didn’t mention Linda’s cheery bouquet from Blue Lotus Floral Design. Lovely, no? For more from L + J, take a peek at Poser’s post of the big day here.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We met October 2008 at a pool hall. Jojo’s cousin, AJ, introduced us. At the time, he was actually dating a girl with the same name. He accidently tagged me in a facebook note instead of her. After that, we exchanged numbers, but nothing really happened except for the occasional text. It wasn’t until January during his birthday week that we ran into each other at a bar again. For weeks after, we would talk to each other through text messages from the moment we woke up until we fell asleep. The next month, we both happened to be going to Austin on the same weekend. The whole time we were there, he was chased me around the city until we were finally in the same place and we had our first kiss. We’ve been together ever since.
Describe the proposal. It was our six month anniversary and my birthday. Jojo took me to New York City to celebrate and we stayed at the W Hotel in Times Square. Our first night in the city, we came back to the hotel after dinner to change for a night out. He offered to put on my sweater and when I turned back around, he was down on one knee. I immediately started tearing up so I could barely see him. I remember him asking me if my answer was yes before he put the ring on my finger.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Emotional, cheery, and unforgettable.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: One: We loved our venue. It helped us create the feel of a small, intimate wedding even though we had over 250 guests. Two: Every aspect of our ceremony. Our faith is the most important part of our relationship. We wanted all our family and friends to feel that. Three: The flowers and arrangements, the paper lantern aisle runners, our mad libs guestbook, and photos of us, and wedding pictures of our parents and grandparents. It all helped that day become ours.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I started looking for a wedding dress a few weeks after getting engaged. I wanted to make sure that I found the PERFECT dress so I did tons of research online on cuts, materials, and designers. I think I tried on about 70 dresses. It was the last place we went to. I was with my mom, both of my sisters, and my aunt visiting from England to Bliss Bridal Salon. We tried on a few dresses and then I tried “it” on. I couldn’t stop smiling. When I came to pick it up a few weeks later, I opted to try on the dress with my eyes closed. When I opened my eyes, all I could think about was walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Jojo at the other end. I couldn’t stop crying.
