I’m quite the indecisive person, but when it came to choosing my favorite feature in Southern Weddings V3, I had no doubt! Something Blue by Jose Villa took the (red velvet) cake, in my humble opinion.

When I got a sneak peek of this gorgeousness I literally wanted to live in this feature. And you know what? I still do. The clean white and the lovely shades of blue just make my heart happy!

Honestly, how could we go wrong with Jose Villa and Joy Thigpen? This fabulous duo makes everything look so lovely! Let’s not forget, though, that most of the lovely details were gathered by none other than the uber-talented Emily Ayer, Southern Weddings’ Art Director.

I love behind-the-scenes secrets and one of the best things about this shoot is that none of the models were professionals! In fact, our “bride” was Joy’s beautiful assistant, and her ‘maids were real-life, engaged Southern Weddings readers! Congratulations, ladies!

Oh my milk glass and lemonade! Dear Joy, can you please come to my house and set my table?

From the gorgeous calligraphy from SW favorite Moya Minns to the delicious-looking cake from Fearrington Village, I could pin up this whole page and be filled with inspiration for days! No joke, y’all!

Taking these little trips back into V3 is making me all the more excited for y’all to see V4! It will be worth the wait, I promise!

We’re back with another peek at a V3 feature! When you break it down, this shoot is really an ode to four things:

1) young love and honeymoon bliss
2) the beauty of Asheville, North Carolina
3) the ridiculous behind-the-camera talent of Jose Villa and Jen Curtis
4) the styling savvy of one Joy Thigpen

Seriously, though, didn’t she do an amazing job matching Caroline’s dress and accessories to the balloons? Genius. Pick up a copy of V3 to read about our eight favorite Southern honeymoon destinations, with input from SW editors as well as Kathryn of Snippet & Ink, Lauren from I Love You Much, the experts at Asheville Event Co, and Whitney of Darling Dexter. And don’t miss the full gallery, with tons of additional photos!

P.S. Since we have gotten oh so many questions about the gorgeous rainbow dress featured here, I’ll go ahead and tell you that it’s by Thread. The rest of the credits are below!

I went on a hunt to find this dress to buy it but Thread doesn’t sell it anymore!! so sad! If you know where I can find it again, let me know.

Other than that, this is probably my favorite shoot of all time. The styling is amazing and Jose Villa did a magical job with the photos!! Swoon.

I was wondering where to buy that hat box. I think it’s a hat box.. it looks so gorgeous and would be lovely to take whenever I travel.

Whew! We hope y’all had a fabulous weekend of poking around the new site. We don’t want to inundate you with even more posts when you already have so much exploring to do (though we have SO much to share!), so today, we’re just going to introduce you to one of the editorial galleries. It’s the one for 1/3 of our “Southern by Design” feature from V3, a photoshoot dreamed up by Emily and Joy at Once Wed. I thought Joy’s imagining of old engine parts as palmetto fronds was a particularly genius starting point for the design, and everything else seemed to fall into place after that. Head to the gallery to see all the details, but not before thanking Jen Curtis for the lovely images!

P.S. Still confused about the new site features? Make sure to read this post!
