Tag: how to be a maid of honor

A few weeks ago, Emily and I tried our hand at something new: a Southern Weddings webinar! We had so much fun spending an hour chatting about all things bridesmaid/maid of honor with the attendees–we’re big believers that being asked to be in a bridal party is not something to be taken lightly, but it can (and should) be a joy and not a burden! We covered what to expect when you’re asked to be a bridesmaid/MOH, the typical duties for each role, and most importantly, how to go above and beyond to love on the bride throughout her engagement and on her wedding day. We also touched on etiquette and tips for some common conundrums, from what to do if the bridesmaid dress is out of your budget to how to diffuse potentially tough situations between the bride and other members of the bridal party.

Miss the live webinar? Not to worry! You can catch the replay here.

Top to bottom: Laurie and her bridesmaids by Cassidy Carson, getting ready robes by Robyn Van Dyke, glitter bridesmaid dresses by Esther Louise, champagne toast by Shannon Moffit

Our next webinar will be all about Southern wedding traditions, and especially if you’re getting married in the South, we hope you’ll join in! Save the date for September 20, and keep an eye out on Instagram for the registration link!

P.S. Are there any topics you’d love for us to cover in future webinars? Let us know in the comments below!

Cannot say enough how helpful this was! Used all the tips this past weekend for a wedding I was a bridesmaid in — the water for the bride and taking away her phone were particularly great!
