Aside from your wedding dress, accessories are potentially the most fun parts of your wedding day ensemble to pick out. We love that our favorites from 2012 show off the bold, the fun and the personalized.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m really terrible about remembering April Fools Day. It’s always a bit stressful to wake up and hear that all of my friends are engaged at once or (even more stressful,) transferring to Duke. (Sorry, Em.) The fact that this slips my mind means I can’t pull off pranks of my own, though I was never that good at pranks anyway. (You’re welcome, friends.)

For the office as a whole, April 1 is another big holiday for us. It’s our birthday!

We celebrated four amazing years of Southern inspiration, growth and our community of sweet readers. Thank you for helping us along the way!

As part of the celebration, we visited the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Monday and got to meet some of our fab readers.

Of course, you know the celebration doesn’t end there. We packed this week full of candy giveaways! We partnered with 240sweet, Hammond’s Candies, Sweeteeth, Push-Up Pops and Candy Warehouse to help you build the dessert buffet of your dreams! There’s still one more week to enter these giveaways, so don’t miss out!

The first week of April also means that it’s time to round-up the highlights of March’s Real Weddings!

Cotillion
may not be weddings-related, but it’s an oh-so-Southern tradition and full of gorgeous white dresses! Fun fact: our Editor in Chief, Lara was a deb!

We’ve been taking turns dreaming up bridal shower inspiration for each other, though Emily is still the only one in the office who is currently engaged! This week, she built a soiree for Sierra around an usual form of inspiration, our favorite of her shirts!

This week’s featured Real Wedding Gallery was Marilisa + Taylor ! Their yellow and gingham details are Southern style at its finest!

Real Weddings galore!

Beverly + Craig’s yellow and gray wedding was a cheery celebration with fun fall style. See it here.

Rachel + Jeffrey’s classic pink V4 wedding was perfectly pretty and Southern. See it here.

Casey + Wojtek’s Texas rooftop wedding was a combination of sweet traditions. See it here.

More fun events!

In the Nashville area? Tara Guerard will be at the Dotted Line on Monday, April 9 on behalf of her printing company, Lettered Olive. Join her and Kate Little for a Sip-N-See event and book signing! Then, on Tuesday, Tara and Kate will be there again to host private consultations for brides interested in Tara designing her event. Find more information here!

Happy Easter weekend, dears! Tell us about the fun events you’ll be taking part in!

How to choose?? I adore Katherine’s Amsale, but Ashley’s Lazaro is another of my favorites! So many beautiful Southern brides!

I hope the wedding(and other formal) dress with pockets trend fizzles out soon.

Aww, I love that trend! The pockets usually don’t interfere with the lines of the dress, and what could be more convenient than pockets?!

I LOVE Katharine’s streamlined preppy dress AND Sidney’s classic lace dress. STUNNING!
