Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

by in on

Since we used to travel so much, BDK and I have become quite the homebodies–it was always so hard to leave home when we were only there during baseball’s off season! Now that we don’t travel nearly as much, we love taking quick trips together when we get the chance. Since my and EK’s birthdays fall pretty close together, we recently planned a fun trip to Walt Disney World! There are so many great accommodation options in the area–both on property and off–but we chose the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, and y’all, it was a great choice!

Just a quick shuttle or boat trip away from the parks, the Swan and Dolphin is the perfect spot to rest your head and your sore feet after all the fun at the Disney parks! Our room was in the Dolphin wing of the hotel, and it was a beautiful and spacious Family Room with a fabulous view! Since we did have a wild two-year-old with us, we opted to watch the fireworks at Hollywood Studios from the comfort of our hotel room window. We could see all their beauty without the crowds or the load noises, and we were already in our pajamas with room service on the way. Win all around in my book! Room service was quickly delivered and absolutely delicious–especially the blueberry cheesecake, which BDK highly recommends!

One of my favorite things about the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort was that it has perfect amount of “Disney-ness!” While I’m a fan of the mouse, it was such a joy to be able to step into our hotel room’s beautiful, minimalistic design where we could enjoy each other’s company and recap the hectic days at the parks.

Another of my favorite things about staying at the Swan and Dolphin was the character breakfast at the Garden Grove inside the Swan! The buffet had a huge selection of so many yummy breakfast choices, including Mickey Mouse waffles for EK! The best part was that Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale come right up to your table to say good morning and give you a big squeeze. Even without a little one, it’d be sure to start your day off with a big ol’ smile!

With our last night looming, BDK was not about to leave without trying the award-winning restaurant, Todd English’s bluezoo. We might have been a tad underdressed, but that didn’t stop us from one of the yummiest meals we’ve ever had on date night! I can assure you, you do not want to miss out on bluezoo’s New England-style clam chowder! Be sure to save room, because the milkshakes at The Fountain will have you wishing you could stay forever. Well, that, and the Heavenly Beds back in the rooms!

One thing we didn’t have enough time to experience was the Mandara Spa, but let’s say that after just peeking into the entrance, it’s officially on my to do list for our next trip!

P.S. A big note to brides! When you choose The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin as your wedding destination, you’ll receive special rewards and bonus Starpoints® which can be used immediately towards honeymoon nights. How cool is that?

With the kindest employees and easy access to all the parks, if you’re planning a trip to Disney World or a wedding in the area any time soon, be sure to check out the Walt Disney Worlds Swan and Dolphin! I know they’ll take great care of you!
