The London NYC

by in on

As you may have seen on Instagram, I took a whirlwind trip to New York City last week to film three more videos with Zales Jewelers for Southern Weddings TV (you can see the first video in the series here!). It was a super busy, but fun, trip, and one of the biggest highlights was staying at The London NYC. Emily and I attended a presentation at The London during Bridal Market, and when we were there, I immediately fell in love with the chic, modern aesthetic of the hotel–from the greenery-covered exterior to the stunning penthouse where we watched the presentation. When I realized that The London was just a few blocks away from where I’d be filming, I knew it was where I wanted to stay!

All of the rooms at The London are suites, which made me feel like I had my own fancy little apartment. As soon as I got to my room on the 47th floor, I spent a good few minutes admiring the beautiful city views outside before settling in with my laptop. Wifi was fast and free for all guests, which is a major plus at any hotel! Since I arrived pretty late and it was freezing outside, I ordered room service (a tasty turkey BLT) for dinner. Gordon Ramsay, of television fame, leads the culinary team of the in-house restaurant (Maze by Gordon Ramsay), The London Bar, and all of the in-room and private event dining. While I didn’t get a chance to stop by the restaurant or bar this time around, it’s at the top of my list for my next trip (the London Bloom cocktail sounds worth the splurge!), and my sandwich was delicious!

I was head over heels in love with the color scheme in the suite–gray, white, and touches of slate blue are completely my style. The living room and bedroom were separated by mirrored french doors, and both rooms featured huge windows overlooking Midtown. One of my favorite things about the bedroom was how many things I could control without budging from the comfy bed–from opening and closing the curtains to dimming the lights. If that isn’t luxury, I don’t know what is!

Hello, dream bathroom! Along with the prettiest marble and white tile throughout, the bathroom included an assortment of C. O. Bigelow products (I may have brought a bottle of the lavender and peppermint hand lotion home with me), and a rain shower head with fantastic water pressure.

If you’re headed to the Big Apple for your honeymoon, I can’t recommend The London highly enough! Not only are the rooms lovely, spacious, and luxe, the location can’t be beat–it’s just a few blocks away from Central Park, MoMA, Times Square, Carnegie Hall, and Rockefeller Center, to name a few. Dave and I are planning to stay here on our first NYC trip after our wedding, and I can hardly wait to go back!

Perfect rooms for a bride to get ready in too. Lots of space and lots of natural light.
