All y’all, a drumroll, please! Finalist voting is open for the Best of the South Wedding Awards!!

As you already know, the South is overflowing with amazingly talented vendors, and we’ve got 250+ Pineys finalists to prove it! Over the past week, we’ve spent many, many hours going through every single one of your nominations to tally entries and prepare for final voting.

We owe thousands of thank yous to y’all for taking the time to nominate your favorites, and in doing so, introduce us to some incredible new-to-us vendors and gorgeous locations across our beloved South. Not to get sidetracked, but that’s one of the reasons we started the Pineys in the first place – to introduce y’all to the best our region has to offer. We just didn’t know we’d be surprised with new talent along the way, too!

While we wish we could share every single nominee here today, it’s time to get down to business – and that means finalist voting!

Over the next 5 days, we’ll release all 21 category finalists in batches of 3-5 per day (to avoid writing the longest blog post in the history of blogging ;)). Please vote once in each category; all voting will be open until June 9th.

Up first, the best Southern wedding venues, as nominated by you! We know selecting a venue is a great launching point for wedding planning, so get ready to learn about the best barns, ballrooms, and more below the Mason-Dixon. Without further ado…

Note: If you are reading in a feed reader, you will likely have to click through to vote!

*Note: We combined the Farm and Barn categories for finalist voting, as there was almost total overlap in the nominations!

As a reminder, there are prizes worthy of the Pineys for the winners in each category. In addition to golden pineapple trophies (!) and serious bragging rights, a feature in our tenth-anniversary issue is up for grabs! So cast your votes for your favorites and tell all your friends. We can’t wait to roll out the seersucker carpet and award some shiny gold pineapples in a few weeks!

Check back tomorrow to vote for the finalists in the Calligrapher, Paper Goods, Band, and DJ categories!

As we count down to our tenth anniversary issue this fall (!!!), we wanted to spend this year celebrating not only how far we’ve come as a publication and company, but how much the wedding community in the Southeast has grown and changed alongside us. Today, we are truly blessed to have some of the most talented, kind, professional, and thoughtful vendors in the world beneath the Mason-Dixon Line!

And though we sing their praises every day here on the blog and on social media (and, of course, in our Blue Ribbon Vendor Directory and in print!), we thought it would be fun to do something extra-special in this anniversary year. And so, I introduce to you: The Pineys!

The Best of the South Wedding Awards (a.k.a. The Pineys, named after the golden pineapple winners will receive!) is our way to honor the best the Southeastern wedding community has to offer, as voted by y’all! There are 22 categories, including everything from Prettiest Chapel and Best Barn Venue to Best Band and Best Honeymoon Destination.

How will it work? Nominations are open for two weeks, beginning today. Click here to nominate your favorite wedding professionals in each category! And, encourage your friends to vote early and often, because…

The finals: After two weeks, we’ll choose the top vote-getters in each category for a round of finalist voting. Voting will again be open for two weeks, with the top vote-getter in each category bringing home the prize.

Prize, you say? Oh yes! In addition to the aforementioned golden pineapple trophy and the considerable honor of being named best of the best, winners will receive a gift basket filled with some of the best the South has to offer in the goodies category (yum!). Winners will also be celebrated in a special feature in our tenth-anniversary issue, which we’re extremely excited about! We may have a few other tricks up our sleeve, too – y’all will just have to wait and see! :)

Hooray, friends! We think this is not only a super-fun way to celebrate our anniversary year, but to truly help y’all find some of the most talented vendors for your weddings. We can’t wait to see who you nominate!

Spring has sprung in the Southern Weddings Shop! We have a bouquet of new products serving up our signature practical and pretty for y’all, and I’m excited to introduce them to you today. And don’t forget – in honor of our birthday, there’s free shipping all week with code HAPPYBIRTHDAY – hooray!!

Filed under the “pretty” banner is our Southern postcard set! At just $10 for a set of 10, you can afford to send one to each of your bridesmaids every month, if you want to!

As we were narrowing down the designs, we kept asking ourselves which ones we’d really send to our favorite ladies – and if we couldn’t picture ourselves sending one, even if it was cute, we nixed it. My favorite is obviously the fabulous pineapple :)

Next up is a short and sweet addition to our e-book library, How to Give a Wedding Toast. Instead of searching the internet for hours, just purchase this handy guide and pass it along to your dad, best man, or maid of honor! This product was partially inspired by the terror I felt when faced with the task of toasting my older sister; if I can help even one other person do a better job than I did, I’ll be satisfied! :)

Finally, I know we’re not supposed to play favorites, but I’m just going to go ahead and say it: I LOVE our new Mother of the Bride Guide!! It’s the same way I feel about our wedding planner: SO proud to have created something SO valuable, especially for a population that isn’t often spoken to!

We have a deep love for our mamas around here, and we’re so thrilled to finally have a product just for you. It’s practical, it’s inspiring, and it’s disarmingly sweet (I cried several times just editing it!). Mamas, buy it for yourself, and brides, buy it for your mamas as a little gift! I guarantee it will be money well spent. You can pick yours up here.
