Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

I don’t know about you guys, but I think I’m still on a sugar high from all the Valentine’s Day candy I received. If you’re looking to prolong the happy feeling, too, this week’s Round-Up with all of our sweet features will be sure to do the trick.

Sweet and Southern, Emily’s Southern Spotting made everyone a magnolia fan. Leaves from the pretty white flower are perfect in a wreath to hang at the end of church pews or on the doors of your church!

Another kind of sweet, the “awww” kind, made its way into Handmade Find glory yesterday. This fleece blanket was made by the handsome man below, for his fiancee.

Since the weather is warming up (well, it is here in North Carolina!), what better way to celebrate than with a dress giveaway from Shabby Apple? Peruse Shabby Apple’s online boutique, then go to the original post to tell us which dress is your favorite to win it!

For beautiful photos and cute love stories, check out the real weddings on the blog this week:

Michelle + King’s Virginia wedding complete with crowns here and here.
Tara + Chris’s lovely barn wedding here and here.

We have more good new to pass along!

Having a wedding between May 21, 2011 and April 20, 2012? Tracy Turpen Photography is giving away a full day of wedding photography to a lucky couple! Check out the flier below and Tracy’s blog for more info!

Minted is having a huge invite launch! Over 175 new wedding invitations will grace Minted’s website. Want to see the new designs? Check out the small preview below and head to Minted’s site to see the rest!

And the sugar on top of today’s Round-Up…

A Southern proposal! Photographer Kelly Sauer was asked by Matt to shoot his proposal to Marsae in Charleston, SC. For the whole story and more adorable photos, head to Kelly’s blog.

Hopefully the treats we came up with this week will keep you energized until we see you again on Monday. Happy weekend!

Weekly Round-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! We only have a few more days until Valentine’s Day! Have you made any exciting plans? Or, if you’re like me and a homebody, have you made plans for a fabulous dinner and rented a romantic comedy to watch? Since the day of love is right around the corner, I thought I would start off this post with my favorite photo from this week. It’s dreamy and sweet and who doesn’t love being sprinkled with paper hearts?

Does this photo look familiar? If you’ve been keeping up with our posts from today, you know it’s from Marissa’s very first SW post on Southern style! This week, we went red-crazy as Marissa shined the spotlight on one of our favorite bright and cheery colors.

Whitney is all about spreading some love and happiness this week! Our giveaway with The Happy Envelope is just the ticket to spreading the joy around. You can win 100 save the dates from The Happy Envelope if you go to the original post and tell us which design you like best and how you like to share your wealth of happiness. Here’s a preview:

Did Christine + Iaan’s pink and blue wedding (here and here) make you ridiculously happy like it did for me? My favorite part was the bubblegum pink vintage car and Emily’s Paper Pick of the week, their wedding invitation! Go check it out here. It’s cute in design and cuter if you read their story. The invitations were designed and printed by Christine herself!

We’re a little gaga over felt, lately. Can you blame us? Emily’s Southern Spotting for this week is as cute as gardenias come. They would be perfect for your groom’s boutonniere if you choose to go with real flowers for your walk down the aisle. Head to the original post and you can find a link to the DIY!

Don’t forget to check out the bright and fun weddings on the blog this week:

Kara + Tyler’s green celebration from V3 here and here
Christine + Iaan’s cute-as-a-button pink and blue wedding here and here
Katie + Matt’s laid back outdoor wedding in North Carolina here and here

And what’s a round-up without sharing some great opportunities?

2011 is Barry C Altmark’s 20th year as a professional photographer! To celebrate, he’s giving away a wedding package to some cool people (Yup! “Cool” is the theme of the contest!) Go to this post on Barry’s blog for more details.

Remember this post about WPPI? Lisa Lefkowitz, Jose Villa and Jonathan Canlas are working on a benefit project for the event, a Mentor Session Charity Raffle! What a team! See more details on Lisa’s blog, here.

StudioWed is planning their next great event for newly engaged couples to jump-start the wedding planning process. The Wedding Experience will feature seminars chock-full of tips and inspiration, and include lunch and chances to win a few great prizes! To register and for more details, go here.

Lastly, before we leave you for the weekend, take a little peek below at this Southern wedding video from the fabulous Cabana Pictures.

Lauren (in a glamorous and GORGEOUS Vera Wang dress!) and Chris were married at the Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Pretttttyyyy, right?

Now go forth and enjoy your weekend, spend time with your sweetie and put the finishing touches on a Valentine’s Day present!

Weekly Round-Up

Hi dear friends! We’re closing yet another week here at SW. Time flies by so quickly! If it’s caught you off guard, too, and you missed some of our great features, then today is the perfect day for you to stop by. This week, along with some gorgeous weddings, we also posted our regular features that you can find on Katharine’s, Emily’s and Lara’s personal blogs. Hopefully throughout the week you’ve clicked on over to their side of the site. If you haven’t, that’s perfectly OK!

Here’s the Round-Up!

Another Southern Spotting by Emily is perfect for college sweethearts. A pennant giveaway is festive, easy to customize and well, cute. You might choose to go the collegiate way instead of opting for bubbles or sparklers.

Emily’s Handmade Find for this week can only be described with one word: adorable. Check out these cute felt bow cupcake toppers. If you don’t choose to use them for your wedding, they would be perfect for a bridal shower.

Weddings on the blog this week:

Jennifer + Kyle’s black and white wedding that had Katharine begging Lara to include it in V3 here and here.
Amanda + Jared’s Charleston wedding with bright red accents is here and here.
Shannon + Chris’s “preppy chic” sea-inspired wedding is here and here.

A couple more announcements:

Wedding photographers! Carrie of Carrie Patterson Photography and Kate Headley have officially announced their East to West Workshop! The two-day workshop will get you excited about the business of wedding photography and becoming a better film and digital photographer. Special guests Richard Photo Lab, Ritzy Bee Events and Simplesong Design. For complete information and to register, visit www.east2westworkshop.com. SW readers can receive $200 dollars off the registration price if you enter the promo code BLOG.

Delphine has teamed up with One Kings Lane for an exclusive 3 day sale. Delphine letterpress stationery, journals, greeting cards, note pads, limited edition prints and other goodies will be on sale at amazing prices — many below wholesale. They will also have gift certificates for sale at 50 percent off! One Kings Lane is a members only website, so you must sign up for access to the sale. It’s free to join. The sale starts today, February 4 and ends at midnight Sunday, February 6. Go to www.onekingslane.com to check it out.

Alrighty friends, that’s all we’ve got this week. We’ll see you again on Monday for more wedding goodness.
