To me, this Southern Weddings V9 editorial represents a Southern wedding at its simplest and best: a mid-afternoon church ceremony, followed by punch and cake on the lawn with all of your family and friends. While I will never stop delighting in the sweet, meaningful details that are dreamed up by so many of the couples who grace this site, I hope those who chose something simpler, something without all the bells and whistles, something more similar to this celebration, will always feel welcome at SW, too.

We’re so grateful to our friend Mallory Joyce for designing this special day, and to Landon Jacob for capturing all the sweetness!

We couldn’t have created something so lovely without a lovely backdrop, and the Parlour at Manns Chapel was that and more. A sweet church building from 1887, it was stunningly reborn last year at the hands of two very talented ladies. You can read much more on their site!

The story behind this editorial was centered around two high school sweethearts beloved by their small town. This pair wanted to invite ALL of their friends and family AND their entire congregation to celebrate their marriage, so in addition to a traditional invitation, they made this invitation banner and hung it at their church as a sort of mass welcome! Letters are Lovely did a beautiful job bringing it to life.

Mallory Joyce created a sweet heart wreath for our ceremony focal point. I know I keep using the word “sweet” to describe this editorial, but it’s the look we were going for, and it always seems appropriate!

Baby flower girls in white are always a good idea!

At a punch and cake reception, of course you have to have some delicious libations! We even froze berries and lemon slices in bundt pans the night before the shoot to create classic ice rings for our bowls.

Paisley & Jade supplied all of the lovely, larger vintage rentals, while Southern Vintage Table sent over the punch bowls and cups. If you were hosting this sort of reception and had the gumption to track down enough vintage punch cups yourself, they’d make a neat favor for your guests to take home!

For the kiddos: punch popsicles!

Another favor idea: pretty little bakery boxes filled with extra slices of cake, topped off with painted bamboo forks, and paired with sparkling lemonade! A Signature Welcome assembled these kits for us.

I’m pretty sure I would gasp if I walked into a wedding reception and saw this cake table! Rest assured, we cut up slices for everyone on set back in May, and the cakes by Favorite Cakes were as good as they looked!

See much more from Chapel Charm in Southern Weddings V9, in our shop and on newsstands around the South now! And stayed tuned for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this editorial, coming later today!

When my boyfriend moved to a different state last year for his job, I insisted on buying him a guest book for his new apartment. He indulged me, and now there are pages full of notes from friends and family members (and me, of course!) recounting the memories made in his new city! When I mentioned that on a whim in a team meeting a few months ago, the team started sharing stories about guest books, and our newest product evolved from there.

You see, we don’t create products for the sake of creating products. In everything that we do–the content we create, the products we design, the conversations we have with our readers–our hope is to provide couples with purposeful information and inspiration to celebrate their story through dating, engagement, wedding, and their marriage!

With that, and from my own story, I’m tickled pink to introduce our Welcome Home Guest Book!

The Welcome Home Guestbooks come in coral, blue, and natural linen, and each is foil-stamped with hand lettering from Hand Lettered Designs. There are 100 lined pages to fill with guest names, dates, and happy memories! The biggest question now? Which color to choose!

Our guestbook is the perfect vessel to hold all of your memories with the loved ones who will fill your home over the coming years. Like Nicole, my favorite part of this guestbook is that it’s something you can start together, whether you’re dating or have been married for years. It also makes the perfect gift for your loved ones!

We can’t wait to see how you fill each line! Grab your Welcome Home Guest Book to start recording the memories of the days and years to come today!!

P.S. Head to the Southern Weddings Shop to grab the Welcome Home Guest Book in Linen as part of the Ultimate Southern Bride Bundle during our Holiday Sale for only $99!

In news that will surprise no one, the Southern Weddings ladies are die-hard devotees of Joanna and Chip :) (It’s no secret that we’re dying to have them in our next issue — how perfect would it be if they were a part of our tenth anniversary volume??) We’ve been eagerly anticipating Fixer Upper Season 4 for months, and so in honor of the first episode kicking off tomorrow, we thought we’d take a walk down memory lane with a few of our favorite houses from Season 3! I’d love to hear your favorites in the comments, too!

I loved all of the arches — in the doorways, in the built-in cabinets — in the Brick House. (Photo by Rachel Whyte)

There was lots to love about the Magnolia House episode, from the goal for the property (a bed and breakfast), that Chip and Jo were the clients, and that so many of the details were chosen to mimic the farm house. The reveal to their parents at the end of the episode was so sweet, too!!

One of the most unique Fixer Uppers ever, the Barndominium gave new meaning to the “modern farmhouse” aesthetic. I loved the 17-foot dining table and all of the sleek sliding barn doors! (Photos by Rachel Whyte and Jeff Jones)

The School House episode included one of my favorite exterior transformations in season three — the now famous German Schmear. (Photo by Rachel Whyte)

Speaking of great exterior transformations… the Whyte’s house, Chip 2.0, was certainly one for the books, as well! That little scalloped table, though, was the detail that really captured my heart. Rachel joined us on Southern Newlywed a few months ago to share behind-the-scenes scoop from their Fixer Upper experience and tons of details on their decor, so be sure to check out that post if you’re a Fixer Upper fan! (Photo by Rachel Whyte)

The Beanstalk Bungalow was one of my all-around favorites from this season. I loved the sweet blue, white, and green palette; the exterior (again! Jo killed it last season on the exteriors!); the brick pavers in the sunroom; and the cottage-feeling master bedroom, ringed with windows.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the 3 Little Pigs house had another fantastic exterior transformation! I also loved the raw brick chimney in the open floor plan kitchen/dining room. (Photos by Rachel Whyte)

I bet Jess in our office (a yellow lover!) was particularly fond of the Chicken House. I loved the cheery color palette and fun wallpaper, too! (Photo by Rachel Whyte)

Finally, the Carriage House. There was just something so cozy about this little house (for the caretakers of the Magnolia House), and the couple who was moving in seemed so sweet.

Fixer Upper Season 4 premieres on HGTV at 9/8CT November 29!

Any favorites, friends? Anyone having a watch party tomorrow night? :)
