Google+ Southern Weddings Calligraphy Workshop with Blue Eye Brown Eye - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

UPDATE! Due to overwhelming interest (yay!) all of our class spots are booked. There’s a chance we could open up two additional slots per class, so be sure to sign up for the waitlist if you’re interested!

Oh my word, do we have a treat for you today! We’ve teamed up with our amazingly talented friend Lauren from Blue Eye Brown Eye to offer a series of calligraphy workshops in Chapel Hill!

Lauren will be offering her beginner calligraphy class for this series. If you’re interested in learning calligraphy, thinking of addressing your own invitations or starting your own business, or would just like to try something new, this class is for you! It’s truly meant for beginners – if you’ve never picked up a calligraphy pen before, you’ll want to take this class! Lauren will go over the basics, including dipping your pen in ink, understanding ink flow and pressure, basic script letter forms, and developing your own lettering style. Lauren will be available to answer any questions about calligraphy along the way. Classes will be small in size (no more than 10 people) to maximize learning!

The class fee is $150, which includes your class materials: 1 pen, 3 pen nibs, ink, tracing paper, a practice alphabet and grid, and extra goodies! There will also be snacks to keep the creativity flowing :)

Lauren will be offering four classes in our area, and each will be hosted by a Southern Weddings gal! The times and dates:

— Thursday, February 27 from 6-9pm
— Friday, February 28 from 6-9pm
— Saturday, March 1 from 10:30am-1:30pm
— Saturday, March 1 from 3-6pm

All of the classes will be held in Chapel Hill. Since each class is limited to ten students, we expect these spots to FLY, so don’t hesitate if you’re thinking of signing up! We are just about bursting out of our skin with excitement over this opportunity, and can’t wait to meet the lucky ladies who will be joining us!

To register, click here! And if you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments!

Hi! What is the policy for cancellations? I travel for work, but would know more than a week in advance if I would have to cancel – just checking on the refund policy before I register. Thanks!

Hi there SW ladies! Let me know if you need a studio to host any of these CH dates in. I’m located at 157 East Franklin Street (just above the Krispy Kreme). Email me if you want to take a look at the space sometime and I’ll give you the tour. I just opened the studio over the holidays. I could fit no more than 10 comfortably. Cheers!

Of course, I met Lara briefly years ago and she has been inspiring me through her blog since. Her inspiration is part of the reason I opened my own business finally. I know she’s requested no email until she’s done with her book, but I plan on emailing her after to thank her. Have a great day! :)

Highly recommend taking this class! I took Lauren’s beginner calligraphy class in Brooklyn NY last fall and was so impressed and inspired! You’ll learn a lot about calligraphy and also get to hear all about Lauren’s creative business! And the cute supplies are wonderful too :)

SO SO SO excited to be taking this course. I have been interested in learning calligraphy for years but haven’t found an affordable or reputable option in the area!

SO incredibly excited for this!!! I actually squealed aloud when I saw this announcement go up! I was on the fence about registering for another upcoming calligraphy workshop, but it was a bit pricier… and this one is definitely worth the drive from DC! Happy birthday to me : )

Will you be offering any calligraphy classes this coming fall?

    • avatar Lisa reply

Hi Debbie! We don’t have any plans for one yet, but will be sure to share on our blog and social media if anything changes :) In the meantime, our friend Maghon has a bunch of classes coming up this summer–we took one with her a few weeks ago and it was wonderful!
