Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

We hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our gratitude cups are overflowing, and we’re ready to bring that same spirit of thankfulness to the Christmas season. We have so many wonderful things in store for this month, including 12 Days of Christmas giveaways coming up soon, our Gingerbread Barn Building Competition next week (find more information and RSVP here), and our holiday ornament swap–it’s going to be fun!

Perfect for the holiday season, Kristin shared her seventh “Hint for a Happy Marriage” this week. We’d love to hear your two cents on this topic here!

Thanksgiving was a big source of inspiration for V6’s Blackberry Beauty, so naturally, we had to share it this week! We can’t get enough of the rich colors and delicate details in this gorgeous shoot.

Ode to the Biscuit was hands down the most delicious V6 spread, as well as the biggest office collaboration! While creating this snazzy layout was fun, the best part of this shoot was sampling all of the fabulous biscuit creations by The Umstead.

It has been such a joy seeing instagrams with the #SWV6 hashtag roll in, so we couldn’t resist sharing a few of our favorites here!

Hooray for real weddings!

We wish we could have been guests at Olivia and Robert’s darling Nashville brunch wedding! See it here.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Those biscuits look so delicious! I was thinking of fried chicken originally but was worried about all the grease, these biscuits are rejuvenating my creativity. Thanks SO much for sharing these ideas!

Talk about thankful — y’all have blown us away over the past few weeks with your unbelievably sweet, funny, heartwarming, and gorgeous shots of V6 shared via our official hashtag (#SWV6). We couldn’t resist sharing just a few of our favorites as we recover from our sweet potato pie/macaroni and cheese/dressing-induced stupor…

Gals planning weddings like #SWV6 (they even take notes!)…

The young and the old read #SWV6 (including those two cuties in the bottom left, whose advice appeared in our “All of My Days” feature!

These kiddos were all featured in Song of the South, and it was reported to us that they squealed when they saw their faces!

Animals of all stripes read #SWV6, including hedgehogs!! Naturally, “Dapper Dogs” was a favorite among this crowd. We are eagerly awaiting the day we get a chicken reader photo.

Some roommates even held “viewing parties” when their copies arrived. (Looks like a great night to us!)

People get very excited when they find or receive their copy… we can’t blame them.

And we definitely count ourselves in that number. It’s always thrilling to see the new magazine on the shelf for the first time! Here are all the SW ladies, including three past interns and staff members!!

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Friends, we are so grateful for everyone who’s shared a pic of their magazine — 630 of you and counting! We love seeing your smiling faces and hearing what you loved most about this issue! If you haven’t already, don’t hesitate to join in the party using hashtag #SWV6!

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!

We hope you’re tucked up somewhere cozy with your family, your friends, or maybe just your honey.

We couldn’t resist sharing just a few of our favorite pies from last year’s Blue Ribbon Bounty editorial in honor of the gooder than gravy fixin’s we’re about to consume. You can take a peek at all the yumminess here.

We are so thankful for y’all: for your enthusiasm over the things we create and share, for your encouragement of our mission, and for the ways you inspire us to work harder and do better through your own relationships and weddings. Huge hugs and Thanksgiving kisses from each of us to you, today and every day.

Happy eating! xo,
Lara, Emily, Marissa, Nicole, Kristin, and Lisa

    Hi!
I am dying to find out where the white “stars shine so bright in TEXAS” plate came from??? I live in Lubbock and this just makes me oh so happy! If you could let me in on that little detail that would be so sweet!
    Thank you so much,
    Kelsea Gale
