Shades of pink and orange in Carolyn + Dustin’s wedding brighten up my morning. Carolyn’s vibrant bouquet from Delma’s Flower Booth show off gorgeous roses with little pops of green, while the all-white alternative for her ‘maids look fresh against their LulaKate dresses. I’m perfectly smitten with the bride’s pinned up curls and glitzy birdcage veil from Enchanted Atelier. Standing next to Dustin in his sharp tux, the two make a gorgeous couple. Of course, their backdrop at the Museum of Fine Arts doesn’t hurt, either. Big thanks to Tina Bass for sharing!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. For years, we noticed each other in church on Sunday mornings. Finally, Dustin worked up some courage and sent an anonymous rose with a letter to my house. I thought it was my brothers pulling a prank, but it turned out to be the guy I’d been noticing for so long. We met and spent some time together as friends, but it wasn’t until a couple of years later that we started dating. Then, after a few years, we made the ultimate commitment and tied the knot!
Describe the proposal. On August 19, 2010, Dustin took me to Bonner Park, along with our German shepherd, Lady. He got down on one knee, overlooking the water, where his parents had been married over thirty years ago. I was ecstatic and overcome with emotion, so it’s hard to remember all of the beautiful things he said through my tears. It was such a beautiful day. When my sister-in-law saw me, she said I was glowing.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Emotional, elegant, and fabulously fun
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: The venue.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: Along with five of my bridesmaids and my mom, we found a beautiful ball gown that everyone agreed was just me. I had tried about ten other gowns before this one and a few more after, but this was everyone’s favorite on me. It was such a fun experience and everyone was so wonderfully supportive throughout the day.

Let’s begin the week with a Southern Spotting, shall we?

Aren’t these magnolia chandeliers magnificent? I think they add such Southern style and glamour to a tented reception, without being glitzy or over the top.

Thank you to Nam Nguyen for sending this Spotting our way! You can see more from this lovely Highlands wedding on his blog here.

[…] This past weekend several wedding blogs had a touching tribute for the 10th anniversary of 9-11.  I thought it was a beautiful way to remember and reflect on the events of that tragic day, as well as honor those who have served and continue to serve their country. Contributing blogs were: StyleMePretty, Green Wedding Shoes, Wedding Chicks, Ruffled, Junebug, 100 Layer Cake, Grey Likes Weddings & Southern Weddings.
