We know we’re a long way from the crisp + cool fall months, but for those of you newly-engaged brides planning an autumn wedding, Tiffany + Ryan’s Florida wedding at the Cross Creek Ranch has your name on it! Kallie Brynn photographed the darling duo, and we’re sure glad she did. The bride wore a traditional cap sleeve dress from David’s Bridal, and her ‘maids were decked out in color-coordinated frocks, also from D.B. A sweet touch? Tiffany’s cousin, Susan, designed the rustic blooms herself! Made with love, indeed.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. Ryan and I met through two mutual friends – both named Ryan! The three Ryans (or the tripod as they have affectionately called themselves) have been friends since high school and were mutual friends with me through work. We had met at one of the Ryan’s graduation party (I know, it can get confusing) but the sparks didn’t fly until we met up again at an XBOX 360 Halo party. I shot him in the head, and he was pretty much mine after that.
Describe the proposal. We are a pretty low-key couple, and for our anniversary we decided to go see District 9 and then hit up Gameworks. Ah, nerd love. After running to the car in the midst of a rainstorm, Ryan popped the question as I sat shocked in his Volkswagen Rabbit. He couldn’t even get out an entire sentence; all he was able to say was, “Will you?” I wouldn’t have it any other way! I still get to give him a hard time about not getting on one knee.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Lively, funny and romantic.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: My favorite detail was the table numbers that I had commissioned from TheFutureMrsDarcy on Etsy.com. I fell in love with her just by her user name and on a whim asked her if she could create a custom listing for me. We named each of our tables after a Harry Potter spell as a nod to our love of the boy wizard and also hopefully as a conversation starter. Each table had the spell name listed and a description of what that particular spell does. I even tried to make our seating chart based on what spells I thought each table would need! For example, my Dad is a very lively character so his table “Muffliato” is a spell that would be used to muffle your conversations from innocent bystanders. Ryan’s favorite detail was the glasses I had commissioned again on Etsy.com for us and our bridal party. Each glass had a cartoon version of each member of our party, their name, and their title. It was a unique gift idea and a huge hit with our friends who carried them around all night and refused to drink out of anything else.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I went to David’s Bridal with all five of my bridesmaids. The plan was for me to trying on dresses and hopefully get an idea of what kind of bridesmaid’s dresses we wanted. We never thought anyone would be getting a dress when we all arrived. Fast forward two hours later, and we were lined up at the check-out counter and every last one of us had picked out and purchased a dress.

While their ceremony was a classic black + white affair, Taylor + Stephen celebrated with a bold and bright outdoor affair at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. I love, love the twinkle lights over the checkered dance floor! Talk about dancing under the stars. For a fun twist on a wedding tradition, T + S served a chocolate, flower-topped cake from Classics Cakes (904-246-6408). For more from today’s fairytale wedding, visit Abby Jiu’s blog post here!

Tell us about finding your wedding dress: My dress was the first one I tried on. I went on to 10 more stores and at least 100 other dresses. But I couldn’t get over the way that dress made me feel – just like myself… only better. I wanted something beautiful, feminine, and dramatic, something that would take Stephen’s breath away and this dress fit that bill 100%. The dress was going to stretch my budget, but my mother agreed to it saying, “Life will have its challenges. I want your life with Stephen to start off as perfect as possible. You’ll always have this wonderful day to look back on, and the way you felt, even when times are tough.” I couldn’t thank her for that more.
Describe your wedding flowers: My florist helped me choose a lovely palate of purples and fuchsia for our wedding floral designs. Throughout the museum and gardens were various arrangements of antique hydrangeas, purple and fuchsia roses, calla lilies, stock, and purple mokara orchids with a spray of peacock feathers in almost every design. I carried a cascading bouquet of white phalaenopsis orchids secured by a brooch that belonged to my great aunt. My bridesmaids carried bouquets of purple antique hydrangeas, deep purple callas, purple mokara orchids, purple roses and punches of fuchsia roses. Each bouquet was different, but similar.
Describe your wedding cake: The bride’s cake was a three tiered, chocolate devil’s food cake with a chocolate butter cream filling and chocolate ganache exterior. It had gold ribbon on the border, gold fondant feathers, and fresh flowers. The groom’s cake was a double layered half sheet of New York Style Cheesecake with butter cream icing and decorated with fondant, hand painted bow ties. One tie represented Stephen’s fraternity, another represented his interest in politics, and the last represented his signature bow tie.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Just as I stepped outside into the garden to take my place for my walk down the aisle, I heard the a capella group sing a song Stephen and I had listened to often. The rush that came over me in realizing this was the moment I would get to marry the most wonderful person I’d ever met brought tears to my eyes. I hid behind a great oak tree, waiting for my cue, thinking to myself, “I really get to keep him forever.”
Did you write your own vows? If so, what was your favorite phrase, verse or line? No, but our priest knows us well. She represented us perfectly in her sermon when she said, “Taylor is Stephen’s inspiration and Stephen is Taylor’s rock.” She went on to say, Love is not a feeling. It’s a do-ing.”
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? We look forward to moving into our new home together and starting a family in the next few years.
