Google+ Real Tennessee Wedding: Jordan + Adam Part II - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

The awesomeness of Jordan + Adam’s Tennessee wedding is killing me!  How can you not like a wedding reception that seamlessly incorporates an Elvis impersonator?  The new Mr. and Mrs. Jordan (yes, the bride did change her name to Jordan Jordan!) welcomed family and friends to the Spring Creek Ranch for dinner, dancing and plenty of cute couple shots.  The pale blue wedding cake made with love by the groom’s mother adds a sweet hint of color to the rustic reception, and have we mentioned how much we heart (<3) the bride’s Mikaella Bridal dress?  Feminine, romantic and timeless all in one dress!  Sneak on over to Our Labor of Love’s blog to see more from J + A’s love fest.

Describe your wedding cake: Our cake was so special! Adam’s mom has made a hobby of cake decorating and offered to make our wedding cake for us. This was her first wedding cake, she worked so hard on it and it turned out beautiful! We chose a design that was clean and contemporary-looking. It actually ended up reflecting the design of my dress a little bit, which was really cool and unintentional. Adams mom is so talented and poured a lot of love into making it for us.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Planning our wedding from New York was definitely a huge challenge; I had to heavily depend on my mom and our wedding coordinator to pull through for me and help make big decisions. It was also challenging for Adam and I to come together on a lot of our design ideas for the wedding since we both have a design background. We both have very strong opinions about these things …we learned a lot about each other through the planning process, that’s for sure!
What was the most unexpected moment on your wedding day? Our wedding was originally planned to take place outside. We found out earlier in the week that it was going rain, and then found out the day before that it was going to STORM. Tornado warnings, hail, heavy winds, rain—we got all of that on our wedding day. Our guests even had to evacuate their hotel rooms and sit out in the hallway for safety. There were tornado warnings going off while we were out with the photographers taking pictures! It was crazy. Everyone says that if it rains on your wedding day, it means good luck…we must have a whole LOT of luck!!

What was special about your ceremony? Adam’s brother performed a lovely ceremony and married us, which meant the world to us both. He did an amazing job!  Also, we had our own little moment during the prayer, right in the middle of the ceremony the sky broke up and the sun came out. It was amazing!
What’s next for you as a couple?  Right now we are working on building our careers and we really want a puppy…perhaps a French bulldog.
What are you looking forward to in the future? We look forward to spending a life time of love and fun together surrounded by family and friends.

I adore how charmingly simple this venue is…it’s almost rustic meets contemporary. And what’s better than Elvis?!
