Google+ Inside the Print Edition, Vol. II :: Watercolor, Part I - Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

First up in our “Inside the Print Edition” series: Watercolor Palettes! (Side note: can we abbreviate this ITPE?  Or maybe IPE?  Discuss.)  For this quartet of features we traveled to the Watercolor Resort in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.  As you can see from these images, we had gorgeous weather despite the fact that a hurricane had been predicted for our shoot day.  Needless to say, this stroke of good fortune only added to my conviction that Watercolor is a magical place full of ponies, unicorns, and, as you’ll see here, pretty people.

Jory Cordy is the genius behind these lovely images.  Our dark-haired bride is sporting Nicole Miller (on loan from the gracious Nouveau Flowers), a sweetpea&fawn hair flower, a bracelet from Adorn Brides, and earrings from Avelle.  Her embellished parasol is courtesy of Pamela’s Parasols.  The studly groom is decked out in a Paul Frederick suit, an XOElle bow tie, and a pocket square from Julian’s.

I think these lake and dock shots were Jory’s favorite from the day.  The water and the light were beautiful by this point.

Fun fact: it took Jory just a few minutes to photograph this tablescape, though it took Joy, Shelby, Sandi, and I hours (hours!) to set and style everything just so.  As he went to put away his camera, I fought the urge to run after him yelling really?  REALLY?!  Done already?!  But the proof is in the pudding, people, and whether it took him five minutes or five hours, Jory delivered the goods.  As a reminder, NONE of these shots are featured in the magazine — just think of the goodness that’s still waiting for you inside!

Of course, a table this lovely wouldn’t have been possible without help from a few friends, including Joy Thigpen and Ashley Meaders (styling), Shelby Peaden (all-around assistance!), Two Fishes Artistry (hair and makeup), Cakes by Tanis, Fiore of Pensacola (flowers), Nationwide Tents N Events (rentals), and Izon Models.

The menu cards are gorgeous… and I love the look of the rosé vs regular sparkling wine!
